10/4/2018 09:49 | Glencore announced Tuesday that chief executive Ivan Glasenberg resigned from the board of Russian aluminium producer Rusal amid US sanctions imposed against the Russian firm. Glencore said it would not proceed with its previously signed transaction with EN+, which involved swapping shares in Rusal for global depositary receipts in EN+. The group said that it was still evaluating the position under its contracts with Rusal for the purchase of aluminium and alumina, but noted that these contracts were 'not financially material to Glencore.' 'Glencore is committed to complying with all applicable sanctions in its business and is taking all necessary measures in order to mitigate any risks to Glencore's business as result of the designation of Rusal and EN+ as SDNs, including in respect of secondary sanctions,' the firm said. At 8:02am: (LON:GLEN) Glencore PLC share price was +11.38p at 350.53p | leedskier

06/4/2018 08:04 | For all the criticisms that are made of the British political system, the absence of a 'supreme president' avoids financial corruption at the top of Government. With news this week of former presidents of both Brazil and South Korea joining the list of those convicted and/or imprisoned, it is demonstrably the case that absolute power corrupts absolutely. | leedskier

04/4/2018 11:26 | I conclude "V" is Victoria Cappin - by the way the "Action Group" are not allowed to communicate with Claimants in any way ! If it helps a lot of us are in the same boat. I didn't get any money in the first tranche and I can only assume those who were paid were :- 1) Non PIs (because they are large and evidence of their holding would be straightforward) 2) PIs who bought their shares in their own name (i.e. those who didn't use a nominee account). But it is only an assumption ! I wouldn't worry - at least Signature have not approached you for evidence so that's a good sign. I'm also assuming the momentum for the payouts is being driven by RBS and they will be in contact with the Registrars (Computerserve in Bristol). If it is a Nominee Account then they in turn will be contacting the Brokers to get the information on the Rights Issues holders. If they can then match that information with the information on a Claimant then there will be a payout. But again it is only an assumption ! Are you getting emails from Signature ? (the last one moved things along a lot and was very informative) | chinese investor |
