29/3/2018 15:20 | :(( While ESMA has listened to traders on margin close-out rules and adapted its policy accordingly , it has chosen to disregard the weight of feeling against the proposed leverage restrictions. As a result, minimum margins for retail clients on all CFD and spread betting markets are expected to increase significantly. 29/3/2018 14:51 | Potential for read-across? Barclays reaches settlement with the United States Department of Justice in relation to Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities Barclays has today reached a settlement with the United States Department of Justice ("DoJ") to resolve the civil complaint brought by the DoJ in December 2016 relating to residential mortgage-backed securities sold by Barclays between 2005 and 2007. Under the terms of the settlement, Barclays has agreed to pay a civil monetary penalty of $2,000 million (GBP1,420 million), which will be recognised in Q1 2018. This will result in a pro forma negative impact on the 31 December 2017 Common Equity Tier 1 ratio of approximately 45 basis points. The settlement resolves all actual and potential civil claims by the DoJ relating to Barclays' securitisation, underwriting and sale of mortgage-backed securities in the period 2005-2007. | blusteradjuster
29/3/2018 14:20 | Hi guys, back home to chilly UK from my jaunt to South Africa. I didn't receive anything through the post either this morning despite Sig Lit saying that they hoped to send the interim payment of 30pps to, I think 1600 retail investors, by the end of this week. As it is a long Bank Holiday weekend I took that to mean by today. I'm hoping that I am one of those verified claimants as I have not been asked by Sig Lit for any additional information whatsoever. I'm expecting a cheque for £1800, but won't now get anything until at least tuesday, that's assuming it IS in the post!! I'm not holding my breath however. | barmiddleton
