Don't get too excited, maxk.

"A spokesman later qualified the announcement by saying that Mr Tusk was due to fly to Hungary so would simply be making a statement on any overnight developments."

A deal in the next 48 hours according to Chris Grayling.

Sounds good until you remember who is doing the deal.

Given 1 in 3 women in the U.K. have had an abortion and 95% have no regrets about it, I’d suggest Rees-Mogg is unelectable

Rees Mogg honest? Yer avvin a turkish.

He's been going around recently quoting this economist pal of his saying how many billions better off we'll all be after brexit. This is the same so-called economist who told us before the referendum that brexit would be the end of british manufacturing. Rees Mogg seems to have conveniently forgotten that part of his mate's prophecies.

careful - they said Corbyn was unelectable and look at him now!

That's why I made the point about honesty. People are so utterly sick to the back teeth of traditional slimy politicians they are willing to consider any honest man, even with baggage.

Interestingly, Rees Mogg makes a surprisingly strong showing among the young.

There is a wonderful story about Rees Mogg's first stab at getting elected. As is usual for those not on the A list he was first offered a hopeless seat for a Tory some where up in the North East. He decided to play the game by hiring a Bentley for his election campaign.

There is then the little matter of how the DUP would react to a papist prime minister. Without the DUP's support, it will be a short lived term of office.

Rees Mogg is such a toff.
It worries me when they even suggest his name.
Reminds me of Sir Alec Douglas Home.
Unelectable.

Davis admitted yesterday they had no clue about the economic effects of Brexit on the motor, aerospace and finance sectors.

Rees Mogg would not even care about these plebeian activities.

Rees Mogg has the intellectual firepower to do the job and, like Thatcher, is probably tough enough to sort out the Europeans. However how the snowflake generation will react to some of his 19th century views is a different issue.

The subtle shift in style.
Now Brexit is apparently worth doing even if we are to be worse off.
'better a poor master than a rich slave' they are telling us.
'Well worth a few points off GDP'.
Bexiteer Norman Lamont said Brexit was always political not economic.

I wonder how the proud uk public will react when they get a dose of real austerity.
Higher inflation, taxes and interest rates, lower property, prices fewer jobs.

and put a proper leader in place (if they can find one)

Rees Mogg, the bookies' favourite and not such a daft idea as some think. There is an appetite for honesty and a change from "how do you know a politician's lying? His lips are moving" type politics.

For sure there is no question of turning back the clock. The question is whether the UK crashes out or cuts a deal.
