11/6/2009 16:51 | Nice shout on AEX looks like it could fly!!!!!! | rabybay
11/6/2009 15:08 | ok, one more post before I go sleep. Blackrock World Mining...seems to be on a roll. if your into something other than oils, BWTFDIK.. | steve73
11/6/2009 14:47 | Nice one - and have a great time. I only went on a 2 day trip trip to Pnom Penh and that was for business... but was the anniversary of the khmer rouge taking over the city so rather a hairy atmosphere... | cmabey
11/6/2009 14:16 | Good music up on the Rex, and at Saigon-Saigon in Caravelle. Mind you both places reduce you from a dong millionaire to broke in a couple of rounds. Managed to get a decent lump of ROC earlier, and good to see another move up since. Off to Cambo next week for a hols - not been there yet. | steve73
11/6/2009 12:03 | story of my life mate ;-) The Q Bar is still open (I still get the e-mail flyers), and Anh is the owner even if she's not living in SGN at the moment. It's on the side of the Opera house - used to be the only place to go there.... Ah memories of the Rex roofgarden at night and a lugging around a rucksack full of dong :-) | cmabey
11/6/2009 11:49 | I'm not sure there's anyone in any of the bars from the early 90's still around by now. Of course their daughters' mabey (sic!) sorry couldn't resist that one.. PS investors europe look promising - waiting for a quote now. | steve73
11/6/2009 11:25 | Hi Steve: I used to go to SGN quite regularly back in early/mid 90s ... and I know about those sharks! ;) Nice place to spend some time though - please say hi to Phuong-Anh at the Q-Bar if she's based there at the moment... from Charles. | cmabey
11/6/2009 11:22 | cheers cm, I'll check the alternative. I'm in Sunny Saigon - BTW, the VN stock index is up over 100% this year to date. I want a piece of it somehow, but just too many sharks here for my liking. I'm not into derivatives, just pure long positions, but I am considering the benefits of holding my "safe" cash in a multi currency account and switching it to suit. | steve73
11/6/2009 11:02 | p.s. anyone else been enjoying the fun over at TRP this morning..? ;-) | cmabey
11/6/2009 11:01 | Steve73: In the costa Brussels ;) Internaxx do 19 Euros a pop if you're a frequent trader (30 trades a year I think) and don't annoy you with online limits - they take any size of order and get on with it. Great CS too. However, while their derivative platform is fine, the stock trading GUI is pretty basic. Otherwise there is www.investorseurope. | cmabey
11/6/2009 10:29 | AEX looks good just got on board! | rabybay
11/6/2009 10:05 | thanks cm, internaxx looks interesting, although it's a little too pricy for my liking. I wonder if there are any other "more cost effective" international services around suitable for expats. Probably need to ask the question on a more popular board though..... Where are u based cm? | steve73
11/6/2009 09:50 | Yangou: I certainly hope so. I'm pretty new to it, but as soon as I read through yesterday's presentation I threw some more at it. | cmabey
11/6/2009 09:45 | Might buy some AEX myself cmabey if i can get some funds together soon enough.Chart looks good too early stages of a possible good rise | yangou
11/6/2009 09:44 | Steve73: yes realised after I posted that we'd already discussed AEX briefly. Future looks very bright though and as you know they're not a new operation. Not aware of any offhand - sorry. If I think of something will let you know. Internaxx have the Aussie exchange - and Asia, CA, etc... www.internaxx.lu It's designed for expats so not sure if that'll work for you. | cmabey
11/6/2009 09:31 | cm, I've been in AEX since mid 04, taken small profits on the way up, but missed out selling at 50ish. Currently showing a loss, but I'm very happy to hold from here, and have topped up regularly at these give-away prices. Now one of my larget holdings. I want to top up ROC, but I can't get more that 1000 at on-line. I need to open an ozzie trading account - and benefit from the much better spreads there as well. BTW, are you aware of any other Ozzie O&G that are dual listed on AIM? | steve73
10/6/2009 11:44 | Steve73: ROC moving nicely so far today - good timing yourself. O/T, but take a look at AEX - just released presentation from the AGM and seriously overlooked imo. Also, plenty of drilling coming this year and next. | cmabey
10/6/2009 08:43 | Off to the races... | goodgrief
08/6/2009 17:15 | Hi again Steve: I'm in this one too from 1st May at 24p.... so has moved considerably in the last month. As above there is talk of a takeover, but no great new discovery potential it would seem. | cmabey
08/6/2009 16:46 | Steve, Which one of the many exciting projects that Roc has going for it made you decide to risk your +37k? And why did you think it would not be better deployed in one of the many E&P' Co's out there who are actually doing something? Apologies Steve, reading it again I realise it's not your 100k. I wish you luck. | mortie1
08/6/2009 09:51 | I've only just got in, on a recommendation from an Aussie I'm working with, who's just bought 100,000 in Oz & is well connected in O&G. FWIW. | steve73
08/6/2009 09:43 | Good to see the share price increasing. Sold out of ROC a few weeks ago - didn't see much significant upside. No exploration of note anymore. Good luck to those who remain. | nloughlin
03/6/2009 12:31 | with oil knocking on $70, either we get a rerate on our production or someone else will take advanage. bring on anything, i say. | drago
03/6/2009 07:59 | Good rise in Oz today, murmurs of take-over and production in interview with CEO, await developments in London today. | wrightey |
