01/2/2005 14:55 | So paul sharpe and new boys shareholding valued at approx. £12million / exisitng shareholders stock valued at £1million and raise £3million gross from issue to institutions (presumably with lock in). paul sharpe must of had a good story to tell. So if the story is good, and all the new stock is held with a relatively small number of shareholders (who will not be selling short term), there will be limited stock available - out comes the good news story / hook up with major drugs company (ignoring the fact that the share price needs to immediately increase five fold) and of we go - so the bet is on how good the story is. So fill your boots if your a betting man! I tried to buy more online with Barclays on Friday near close, but it would not let me - could not probably recognise the Epic. IT'S ALL PRETTY STRAIGHT FORWARD NOW - but why did the Weaver fella sell 1 million shares? | lecks
01/2/2005 14:30 | the shares are taken by one single party who will not be able to dump into the market as it will have a lock in period. imho | josereyes
01/2/2005 14:30 | the shares would have been lower by now lecks --the dilution is already in the price --this company was bust b4 this takeover --now it has a golden future imo | harry punter
01/2/2005 14:23 | Not very good at latin Harry and probably a bit thick, but assume that means we will have the same number of shares, only that they will be valued 0.75pence as opposed to current price come the end of February. If the above is so, could you offer me a good reason to hold and why is this not rapidly heading towards the 0.75pence mark | lecks
01/2/2005 13:56 | lecks all shares will rank pari-passue | harry punter
01/2/2005 09:34 | Hello Harry, Hope you are well - are you in a position to answer my query in post 227 Thanks | lecks
01/2/2005 09:30 | should go higher after the name change and EGM punters | harry punter
01/2/2005 09:28 | Very frustrating Ander, you would think someone, somewhere could provide answers to fairly straigth forward questions. Don't care anymore! - will just hold and see what happens (well, until someone can shed some light on things) | lecks
01/2/2005 09:09 | Lecks......no joy from Isinger de Beaufort.Their reply was.. because I am not a client of theirs the regulator does not allow them to provide me with financial advice of their listed companies. They suggest I refer my queries to my broker. | ander
31/1/2005 21:42 | cliffproud / cityfarmer As you are both clearly in for the longer term, then you would both know the answer to my earlier post - if I don't hear from either of you then i'll assume that you don't. Nobody appears to know the position or will it just drift down to to the 0.75 pence level, prior to admission of new shares at the end of February. "what will be the position of existing shares when new company is up and running - will they be converted to the equivalent amount of new shares at 0.75pence". "Also when they state that "they are seeking a waiver by the panel on takeovers and mergers of any requirement for a general offer" - does this mean that the placing for 400 million shares will be with institutions only - no public offer or offer to existing share holders?" | lecks
31/1/2005 19:26 | Guardian. 28-01-2005. Drug firm to develop SmithKline cast-offs. Heather Tomlinson A firm that bought two experimental drugs from the former SmithKline Beecham plans to reverse into Aim-listed cash shell RII, after raising £3m from investors to develop the drugs further. Biopartners bought the two drugs in 2001 after SKB merged with Glaxo Wellcome, and will now use most of the money raised to continue their development. It is part-owned by former SKB executive Dr Paul Sharpe, who would own half the shares of the newly listed firm, to be renamed Minster Pharmaceuticals. The £3m was raised by selling 400m shares at 0.75p to new investors. Yesterday the shares began trading again after being suspended. They rose 16% to 4.75p. The intention is to develop the drugs, sabcomeline and tonabersat, to treat schizophrenia and migraine respectively. SKB originally began developing sabcomeline to treat Alzheimer's disease but it failed trials. Dr Sharpe said that shortly after it was sold to Biopartners, a similar drug owned by Eli Lilly, called xanomeline, was shown to be effective in treating schizophrenia patients, although it was later dropped because of side effects. Dr Sharpe is in discussions with partners to start late-stage clinical trials. The possible migraine treatment, tonabersat, is similar to a drug Glaxo still has in early stage clinical development. Minster plans to conduct its own mid-stage trials. Previous patient trials of tonabersat have produced conflicting results, but Dr Sharpe said he was confident that this was due to the design of the trials. | cityfarmer
31/1/2005 18:48 | Hi Snape, All comes to he who waits! and like a wise investor once said "Cityfarmer knows his onions" ! Off topic: by the way Snape shouldn't your name now be snip as your not having any more? | cityfarmer
31/1/2005 18:34 | Cityfarmer, I suggest you stick to trading your milk quota. I don't see these going up until alot more of that 400mill shares issued at .0075 have been sold (at a substantial profit). Long term we may get a rise, but long term we may not still be here! | snape
31/1/2005 18:27 | For what its worth I am throwing my onions in with Cliffproud and holding, to be harvested at a later date for what I hope will be a bumper crop! | cityfarmer
31/1/2005 18:19 | Hi I am having a lot of computer problems at the moment - switched to Mac only to find AOL don't support Mac ! I can only restate my view that this share is worth holding for the long term, if you need the money then sell, but I still believe you will be better off if you can afford to stay in. | cliffproud
31/1/2005 16:13 | More than 2 billion shares to be issued. Hmmm! | bugs bunny
31/1/2005 15:57 | ? daffy duck | lecks
31/1/2005 15:30 | Be very careful here. The new shares are being issued at the value of .75p each, effectively undermining the current price by a pretty good margin. And how many to be issued? What value would the company be trading at with each 1p movement? A director selling so soon? If the price was going to run for a bit, he would have hung on. When I first heard about the reversal I was interested, but as in all these situations it is the City and insiders who get in at decent levels. The punters, you and me, are expected to and usually do, pick up the tab. If you have made money from the re-listing I would strongly suggest that you preserve your profit, while you can. The long term looks rosy'ish but near term looks fraught with increasing spreads and manipulation by holders to get the price up and then dump a tranche or two! | bugs bunny |
