21/2/2017 09:37 | I imagine that the flow of bad news has now stopped and that because the last couple of statements have been a bit "restrained", that the next release will be better than they've led us to expect. The price movements are simply people realising that these shares are undervalued. | adobbing

The former owner of Pizza Express is thought to be considering a takeover bid for the struggling company, which operates Garfunkel's restaurant chain. Cinven is in the early stages of evaluating an approach, Sky News first reported, adding that TA Associates Management LP are also thinking about bidding. Restaurant Group hasn't had the best few months, with another profit warning last month and the departure of finance director Stephen Critoph. Sky reported that it was unclear what level of takeover premium would be large enough to convince the company's big investors to sell, but added one source suggested an offer would have to be pitched above 500p per share to be credible. 14/2/2017 14:29 | Here's my personal opinion on the share although I might be a bit bias: On the negative side, Restaurant Group had a soggy statement, with like-for-like revenues exiting the year at a weak -5.9 per cent. I suspect a large part of this was a lack of [cinema goers (down 13% in Q4)] as the new management team gets to grips with trying to [make sure they get all the credit when the cinema admissions pick up again], particularly in the Frankie & Benny’s brand. We are clear that there [is a] quick fix here – this is the beginning of what will be an [extremely good year for film releases]. With this in mind, we should also mention that [my] forecasts include [an increase] in the dividend. | thevaluehunter
