A bit tenuous but all I can think of is a read across from WTB affecting the share price today.

In June the average economist thought GDP would grow by 1.8pc in 2016, a forecast which was slashed in the wake of the 23 June referendum. But since then the country has proved resilient, so economists now anticipate growth of 1.9pc for 2016.

Had another look at last years trading statements and the really soft comparatives begin from November so I would expect a significant boost to the LFL %

'McDonald's shares rise in pre-market trading'

Fast food chain McDonald's has reported a 3% fall in revenue to $6.42m (£5.26) for the three months to the end of September.

Net income was also down by 3%, to $1.275m.

However it said globally sales at restaurants - both company owned and franchises - open for a least 13 months, rose by a better than expected 3.5%.

In the US sales they were up by 1.5% helped by the introduction of the All Day Breakfast and Chicken McNuggets without artificial preservatives and the McPick 2 for $2 promotion.

China sales were down in part because of the the "temporary protests related to events surrounding the South China Sea and comparison against very strong prior year results".

The results are being seen as an indication that McDonald's turnaround is gathering pace. Chief executive Steve Easterbrook, has introduced all-day breakfasts, simplified complicated menus and improved service to turn around its business in the face of fierce intense competition.

Good numbers out from peach - outside the m25 performed best which looks good. I woundn't mind betting that they're clawing back the LFL. Euros, Olympics, run up to EU vote and the poor cinema release schedule are now all out of the way for FY16 and will provide soft comps for FY17! That said I'm sure the bremoaners will somehow manage to put a negative spin on things.

CAKE

1) well positioned, vertically integrated brands which straddle two growth markets and have plenty of runway for growth; 2) successful formats in a variety of guises and multiple routes to market; 3) strong and consistent cash flows to internally fund growth and an ungeared balance sheet with net cash of £8.9m; 4) no sizeable direct competitors; and 5) a highly experienced management team.

Stingy cfo is probably a good thing lol. I guess it means no corporate news of note will be coming for the foreseeable?

Both CEO and CFO were first purchases. Most companies have an unwritten rule that you buy shares at a suitable opportunity after appointment to the board.

The director purchases are good but if like Mr McCue I had just been given nil cost options on 282,675 shares vesting in 3 years time I might have been encouraged to use some of my own money to buy a few!

'Shakeout comes to U.S. restaurant chains'

In just one recent week alone, three restaurant companies filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection - Cosi (OTCPK:COSIQ), Rita Restaurant (Don Pablo), and Garden Fresh Corp. (Souplantation, Sweet Tomatoes). At least five other operators have done the same this year.

'2 top dividend stocks you may be missing'

... I'll look at two FTSE 250 dividend stocks, Carillion (LSE: CLLN) and Restaurant Group (LSE: RTN). I'll explain why I believe both could be a good buy in today's market.

Good dividend and supported by £130m ebitda and +£110k freehold property. I expect the dividend to rise next yr. Trading statement in Nov should be interesting given the good weather, film release schedule and soft comps.

'Ed's Easy Diner to close 26 outlets'

The sale of American-themed restaurant chain Ed's Easy Diner will result in the closure of 26 restaurants and 379 redundancies.
