seagreen - thanks for the info. My only comment is that they must really like you or not have a lot of clients. Either way for a broker to phone and personally advise you that your position is CODE RED is in, this day and age/ totally unheard of (until now). Hats off to you squire!

Amarone I use First Equity a Mr Paul Henry or Mr Simon Cowan. For the record Simon rang me and told me that my position was under threat and asked whether I wanted to sell following the anouncement. This saved me a further loss of £300 to date and rising IMHO. They charge 1/2% in and 1/2% out and they always get a good price, call 0207 374 2226 and say sea green recomended them. (And no I do not have nay shares in them!!)

Amarone,

I just opened a spreadbetting position on GMX with IG Index.

btw, what does 'DJing' mean ??

alexwalia,

I suspect down after Singapore tanks this evening - hopefully down to 9p again as I'll be in for rather chunky ammounts of stock, and I suspect EK will then 'reverse' his short, go long, and say 'its the stock of the century'

Does any one know which way this share will continue to move, up or down. What do you think tommorows opening price and finish price could be ??????

Hi andyprice5569,

you see that's exactly why I DONT see the deal as a cash bid, rather a merger. That way GMX get access the other companies assets, resources AND US distribution network all in one hit, not just the cash and in turn their partner gets their hands on the generic (ex.patent) drugs. I would not be suprised if this was a US pharma that will list GMX as a spin-off producing ex.patent drugs. I'll be spending some time cross referencing the drugs GMX are currently finalising with the current patent holder and see if there is any connections (however spurious). It will also give an idea of income revenue stream potential for the GMX products based upon the expiry of the current patent.

ps.who do you use as your broker as i am thinking of DJing mine - if it's not too personal

Hi Amarone,

'I'm betting that no CASH was ever going to change hands rather a stock option, convertible notes or hard shares being the order of the day.'

I suspect cash is required to finish of the trials/development of thier generics drugs and they are looking for someone to provide the cash and help them finish the job of bringing their products to market. Rather than tap shareholders when the share price is very very low, they will tap a pharma and give them a good deal on liciencing their product (and selling if for them or reselling it).

I would not be surprised it the manufacuture of the drug they are copying trys to buy them out to stop GMX's generic version of their drug getting to market.

Generics drugs are really worrying the big pharmas as their drugs come off patent - a very lucrative market (generics) for the foreseable imho

andyprice5569 - 85% nice trading dude!
MM's are not going to get my stock off me this easy. I'm betting that no CASH was ever going to change hands rather a stock option, convertible notes or hard shares being the order of the day. There's more than one way to a merger and I would be hard pressed to think of any reason that a company that had a negative cash trading position would be setting itself up to list on NYSE/NASDAQ. Who would want to take a position in GMX on that last (pretty ambiguous) announcemnt. I have known well crafted RNs announcements before ie. the company knows no reason for recent share movement etc.only to have been followed up by another one shortly after containing the info everyone was speculating on. This is MY speculation rather than fact - if I am wrong I'll accept it and move on however, in this market future speculation is what it's all about.
BTW I took a position in BPRG at the bell this morning on similar speculation - take a look a the thread. Were's your profit going?
ps. who do you use as your broker as i am thinking of DJing mine.

Hi Timbucktoo,

'that why i think they put out the 2nd announcement..'

The second RNS was a 2-in-one, firstly, to elabroate on the share price movement, secondly, to inform the markets when FY figures are out (26th this month).

Amarone,

My stop loss was hit @ 18.22 , so a 85% profit is banked, I'll keep monitoring over the next few days and if it goes down any further on selling, I will take a position as I think its a nice little company; has good prospects, and is dirt cheap.

with the company in merger talks they may not want the share price up,as the merger will cost more.that why i think they put out the 2nd announcement..

I also like the way the EMM notice came out just after 11.00am as it was able to cloak the following announcement on my screen. Served me right for not having the RNS alert on!

The RNS/AFX announcements focus on a 'cash offer' however, I bought these on the basis of a 'merger' agreement coupled with the intention to list in the USA in addition to the companies product line. I may be speculating however, why would this company be lining up their ducks for a listing stateside if are not pretty damn sure that this current 'cash negative' situation is about to change.
Thoughts anyone?

The strange thing is that even after this fall by trying a dummy trade with comdirect online the MMs are bidding for twice the amount of stock they are willing to sell. Max size to sell 50k, max available to buy 25k.
