Thing is though, why did it not drop on the 31st.? after all that is when the sell was placed , in the morning as well...why wait until Friday..??

277K is not really that big is it..?? so you would think, clear the 277K sell, and it COULD go back up to somewhere near where it was.....

is that the reason for the drop..??

0 302JPG6S02 1.25 277000 O 3.0 3.5 10:21:00 277,000

Taking 1.25p that's one hell of a mark down.....

Thanks Max for the pointer....

Basically Yes - I always like to investigate major droppers. Most of them I avoid like the plague but every now and then you find something interesting. This has caught my attention but am still undecided as of yet. I may just chuck in £1k for the kids and put them in the bottom drawer.

Is there a chart on ADVFN that shows volume trading for say the past 12 months of a share?

lol , just noticed Crazi, that you started this thread...thought it was someone else....

How did you find this one..? was it from seeing the drop yesterday..?

Last year's finals came out in May, so that may not be the reason , but would'nt they have to be reported on the 31st of Dec, if so , then surely the drop would have happened as close to that date as possible, not a couple of days after..?

there does look scope for a HUGE turn around of fortune here, they have plans for another 17 Centres, in 2003, so you would think that the sites up already , are doing Ok.

There is too many figures missing here to say one way or another at the moment, cant find sales figures on Motorcise, ARE they selling , is there an interest in the product other than in their own facilities..??

Actually there are one or two of these chairs in other places than their 'gyms' as i have seen them mentioned in retirement homes Etc, so they are not unique to their own facilities...

what is the Membership fee..?? Normally if they dont put a figure, then i see them as expensive, but their product does seem a good one, think the 'elder' ladies do get paranoid at 'proper' gyms , so these places seem a good idea....

Just needs a couple of stunners in skimpy bikin's and tight leotards running around....lol

I can't find any major reason for the recent and sudden 43% drop. Warnings that a loss for FY have been around for a couple of months. It seems that just lack of activity has halved the price. At 1.8p there is a good chance to double up with a little patience and minor activity.

mmm - More homework needed....

Can't find seperate Motorcise income.

The only disapointing aspect I see thus far is the trading volume. Very low at the moment. This would be a medium to long term hold. At under 2p though I believe this could be a decent gamble. Membership is up around 10% in Motorcise and once the aquisition costs, revamping and new outlet expenses etc. are out the way, this should move back into the profit margins. Agreed though, more info is required.

Alec - Taking a look at the interims and considering the aquistion is in the early stages of development and expansion and considering the overall loss year to year in June was only down £88K with £430K cash in bank , deffered income of £1.3m and an increased turnover.....I am considering a punt on these at say the 1.5-1.8p level....What do you think?
crazi

14:55
Maybe the drop is because the year's loss is going to be bigger than expected..?? when will they be reported..?? Interims came out in Oct, so full year in Mar..??

REFLEX GROUP PLC

INTERIM REPORT

FOR THE SIX MONTHS ENDED 30 JUNE 2002

CHAIRMAN'S STATEMENT

RESULTS

The results for the Reflex Group PLC ("Reflex") for the six months ended 30 June
2002 (and comparatives) are shown in # sterling and show a loss attributable to
shareholders of #79,000. This compares with a profit of #8,000 for the
corresponding period ended 30 June 2001.

Turnover in the first six months of 2002 was #2,075,000 which is #1,369,000 more
than the turnover for the first six months of 2001, reflecting the disposal of
First Rental and the acquisition of Fitness & Leisure Group. As previously,
income has been reduced by the deferral of income to future periods, recognising
the annual nature of the majority of membership contracts and there is now
deferred income in the balance sheet of #1,330,000.

The results for the six-month period represent a loss of 0.06 pence per ordinary
share compared to a profit of 0.02 pence per ordinary share for the six month
period ending 30 June 2001.

Consolidated net assets as at 30 June 2002 amounted to #1,989,000 with cash at
bank of #430,000.

We have opened 2 Motorcise Healthy Living Centres so far this year and overall
membership numbers have grown by some 10% from the levels at 31 December 2001.

OUTLOOK

We have now built the Motorcise chain to 32 outlets. Before further expansion we
are concentrating our efforts on growing the membership base and maximising the
potential of these centres.

As stated previously, it is expected that the group will record an operating
loss for the year as a whole.

Also a part of the Reflex group is this....

There are currently 32 Motorcise Centres throughout the UK with plans for another 15 Centres in the current year and a proposed 50 Centres by the end of 2003.
Unlike conventional health clubs, Motorcise Healthy Living Centres are targeted specifically at older users in the 40 plus age category. Each Centre is equipped with a unique range of motorised exercise machines which have been specifically designed to accommodate people who are likely to be less fit. Each machine makes exercise easier and more fun than conventional equipment.
With two exceptions (Tamworth & Newcastle under Lyme), Motorcise Healthy Living Centres cater exclusively for ladies and the beautiful decor, furnishings and ambience of each Centre reflects their feminine taste.
Each air-conditioned Centre has luxurious lounge areas with complimentary coffee, providing the perfect environment for Members to meet and make new friends. Centres are staffed by mature, female 'Trainers' who look after Members on a friendly, personal basis each time that they attend.
The unique motorised machines ensure that the whole body can be exercised in just 30 minutes, less than half the time of a conventional health club 'workout' and all visits are by appointment, which ensures that Members sessions are not delayed.
Motorcise Healthy Living Centres offer a unique fitness experience to the mature female customer who may find conventional exercise facilities and equipment, intimidating.

Hope that helps, though cant find much info on the cash position......

will keep an eye on this , but too much info missing to see if they were worth buying or not.......will dig further......

46.2% drop today. All time low for this share at 1.2p bid and 2p offer. Previous low 3.25p. No thread available so I thought I would create one.

After doing some research I believe this could be a good long term hold at present price (1.5-2p).

With the aquisition of Motorcise Health Centres the company has increased the memberships by around 10% in the past year (02). Once revamp and aquistion costs have been covered I can see a rise in future results.

Another point I like is at current prices the exisitng holders seem content to hold and most must be holding at an average well above 3.5p. Once this starts to rise you can double your investment before reaching levels that holders would consider selling. So as long as future results improve in the new business direction this is a good punt.
IMHO

Please add your opinions.....
