17/5/2013 15:43 | philmac56 I cant move mine into an Isa as one already running for the last 4 years. My Shares are in a nominee a/c with Hbos..I wish I knew how to get proper investment advice as I sense with my losses I could be doing something to offset, but hey I have not got a clue what to do or who to speak with. | 4screws
17/5/2013 07:41 | Step 1: Know your limits Money deposited with a bank, building society or credit union is protected under the FSCS up to a limit of £85,000. This money might be deposited in a current account, savings account, cash ISA or savings bond. The £85,000 limit applies to each person, per authorised institution. This means each person in a joint account is protected, so two people would be covered for a total of £170,000, per authorised institution. If you deposit more than these amounts with the one authorised institution including with banking and building society brands that come under the same authorisation [see step 2] any money above the limit will not be protected by the FSCS. Find out more about compensation limits under the FSCS. Note the phrase "applies to each person" | darias

22/4/2013 12:38 | Interesting !! Smoke and no fire ? perhaps. Solicitor's letters and talk of bans suggests something of a bunker mentality if an assumption can be made that the company had some role in ADVFN's action. One other issue, there seems to be some obsession with legal costs. To me , who said what to whom is a personal matter not corporate. I am no expert but the cost of a solicitors letter is hardly material if the company pays for it given anticipated performance. Heaven forbid but should things progress to litigation then surely the costs would be the responsibility of the individual parties involved whatever the result.Having said this any resolution can only be favourable for the shareholders as the distraction would be consigned to history | vaughan3
22/4/2013 08:13 | "someone is protesting too much" lol scalie, long time no hear - hope you are well. Obviously you don't fall into this category, but it makes laugh that all of a sudden we have a raft of user names on here that I don't recognise (so have prossibly never posred before) who are "nailing their colours to the mast" in support. The cynic in me might just conclude this is being orchestrated. So, who, actually, is "protesting too much"? This is getting pathetic now. He said, she said, we said, they said. Has everyone been transported back to the school play ground? People need to (a) grow up or (b) grow some and get this resolved. | upthepool
