Mate of mine had a Tesla Powerwall 1 installed at a cost of £12k 5kWh, he didn't moan or care about what was around the corner, sure he'd of been better off had he waited but he didn't care as he has that gadget he wanted to show off, yes he had the first one of all his mates.

Business don't care about waiting if it means it is profitable today, they can add as they go if needs be, or as per my explanation in Africa and middle east really today. Oh and India are tendering for storage now, amongst others, not waiting for next year or the year after!!!

It is a poor argument, why do Tesla say they are targeting $100kWh, nobody going to buy today or next year rather wait for that magical figure? Might be waiting a long while.

You'll be waiting a couple years minimum for Gen4, if you are in africa you'd of paid for half the system by then and still retain an asset worth a third of that cost.

Plus you'd of had electricity for two years instead of none or very little.

Would you wait?

Remember this opens up the electricity market, if Eon ownes the system they control the electric, if they do not grab it now they could see their share of the market get smaller...likewise with all the electric utilities!!!

do not forget Eon will be plugging this to all their commercial clients, how many do they have??? they may even offer attractive terms signing them up to buy the surplus electricity....the likes of Unilever, Boots Retail, NHS, Marks and Sparks, Ikea........
