just normal profit taking in the others... they've all outperformed here lately. This is playing catch up.

Nothing..just a breakout and doing what the other palm plays have been doing lately. Low liquidity does that !

REA is lagging a bit..only one of the 4 main palm producers not to breakout but no doubt it will shortly.

Thanks bazzini. It has done well for me over last 18 months. Also M P Evans.
Food production seems to be the general favourite tip for 2008.

It was James Bartholomew in the Daily Telegraph. But beware he's not an infallible tipster and has made several bloomers in the past, particularly in esoteric shares like REA.

melody,
I think you have your currencies mixed up. NBPO are not on single PE at all. I have an issue with all the forecasts on the NBPO thread. They had 2006 earnings of 55toea/share according to the Annual report i.e approx 10p/share at todays exchange rates. Pretax, they were 52% up at H2 according to the H1 RNS to the Port Moresby Stock Exchange, so lets be very generous ( as there is a 20% dilution in H2 also) ... say they are 80% up for 2007, making 18p/share this year. On that basis, they appear to be on a demanding foreward PE of about 20. If true, that is quite expensive compared the other palm plays. I would have to agree with hvs here and say AEP are by far the best play...

hvs - have you looked at NBPO? Forget the fact it is new to the UK. The web site has good historic fundamental data and still on single digit PE compared with mid teens for these guys.
