Why would the Chinese want to pay more for it? If they have a large order to place they will want it cheap too.

clever stance?

bcn's ceo seems focused on China & Korea as the preferred offtakers to convince (eg by year end). Is this a crafty stance so that if & when Tesla want to put pen to paper bcn can say: Well Elon, we already have (1 or 2) big contracts in Asia (worth more to us per tonne) than the low-ball price/tonne lithium you're willing to pay us. Thus putting Tesla (really desperate by now to supply its gigafactory) on the back foot?

The two should correlate in their share price uplift when EMH have sparkling news.

From what I can see 17.5 million new shares issued, less than a quarter of today's trading, drop in the ocean

There has been much hype around Lithium (and Lithium related stocks) recently, as prices of the metal skyrocket. The prices have risen on the back of strong demand growth for the silvery-white metal, with lithium consumption doubling in the twelve years from 2000.
