This morning Phoenix IT announced to the London Stock Exchange that they have received an all-cash offer from Daisy which they expect to accept (release below). Interesting timing after the discussion on Daisy at the event yesterday and previous indications that this was a likely outcome. I hope it further reassures that the Daisy 6DG was never a likely deal. Daisy are buying a distressed business at a knock down price and will strip out lots of costs, which is very much the Daisy style.

In theory, Daisy will become a large competitor to 6DG but I think we all know that they they have a legacy telecoms reseller / IT focus which is quite different to ourselves.

It is good for the market to see further ‘convergence’ between telecoms and IT (albeit different from our approach) which further endorses our model and as a management team, we’re quietly confident of our competitive positioning against companies like the enlarged Daisy group going forwards.

In our space (converged technology solutions to UK mid-market customers), there will still be no recognised number 1. That market leadership position is up for grabs. The acquisition we’re working on now will enhance our position even further and enable us to settle and stay in the top spot.

We will have results published next week, if this behaves like other aim shares it will drop back massiely on results day, would be nice if these break that trend
