27/2/2008 15:50 | All underlyings are moving up. An NRK price of 0p has already been factored into the share price and considering the position was 3% of the fund I'd take the contrarian view and buy not sell. Chance to short was months ago! | roman2325
18/2/2008 16:52 | pug IMO keep selling | father o toole
18/2/2008 14:01 | FOT re your 13 - You were so right - RAB (whichever funds) would now appear to be locked in and who would give you a rotten kipper for NRK shares today. Will have to look at teh other RAB holdings as some may have to be sold to free up cash, Views? | pugugly
29/11/2007 17:22 | Nice header, pity there are no posts. I gather RAB difficulties may be rubbing off on OXS. Does RSS hold OXS or is it RAB directly? TIA. | chopsy
24/11/2007 14:41 | bisiboy I was under the impression it was the rss fund, either way they`re both heading the right way for me. | father o toole
12/11/2007 14:30 | Now 16% discount to NAV! | kenlum
09/11/2007 17:28 | now thats an idea! | father o toole

08/11/2007 12:54 | You are right ken, we shall see! | father o toole
08/11/2007 12:42 | OK, but NRK value would have to be valued as quoted - it's not like an unquoted share! I do take your point about Hedge Funds generally though I believe that there a number of quality funds out there and I have done OK with this,EMG(direct shareholding) and H3XS. We shall see! - Interesting chat though! | kenlum
08/11/2007 12:35 | I guess its not showing up yet, there`s no way a fund valued at 85m can take a 30m+? hit and move on as if nothing happened, in fact thoses losses are growing by the day. That NAV is a load of nonsense, most of those companies would not be highly liquid and any amount of selling could collapse the prices, particularly in these conditions. | father o toole
08/11/2007 11:26 | At 31st October NAV = 175 therefore current discount = 18%. Figures at 31st October would have to take into account any loss at that time; therefore some balancing instruments must have been in place (or am I on the wrong track?) | kenlum
08/11/2007 11:17 | the mkt cap of the fund is only £85m | father o toole
08/11/2007 11:09 | That may well be so but what is the heavy discount to NAV? | kenlum
08/11/2007 10:52 | My calculations suggest something in the region of a £35m loss at present assuming according to press reports that they bought 6.6% at prices between £2.50 and £3 | father o toole
07/11/2007 22:16 | many hundreds of millions | the illiquidator
07/11/2007 10:14 | Any guessimates on what size rabs tab is now? | father o toole
05/11/2007 10:24 | wonder how much RAB have lost on the NRK | father o toole
22/10/2007 14:30 | NRK gamble could prove very costly IMO | father o toole
10/10/2007 12:27 | presumably excitement that northern rock purchase may have been a good buy after all. | rambutan2 |
