08/2/2013 12:50 | well, PZC may well have peaked at 420p and now be heading down....wait to see what happens... a possible trade imo is short on PZC and long on CRE one is expensive and one is cheap and starting a share buy back.... and CRE has much higher yield and much higher EPS per pnd of share. (EPS is around the same, while CRE costs 90p/share, PZC costs 4 quid, crazy imo almost 4 times the cost to get a similar EPS) such a pair trade seems good odds to me Agree that CPR share price is nuts.....I wonder how the price is being held up ?...perhaps the big holders are doing a pair trade on it, (and selling some other similar company somewhere, maybe even in different currency ) just to generate some buy trades to support their big investment, maybe a smaller loss than letting it fall...maybe they think they can hold it up till a better economic cycle starts.... I'm sure that CPR share price will get its just rewards in the end !...ie. collapse (and at CPR the value of their property or leases must surely be falling heavily as well...if announce that then maybe that would trigger a fall) | markt
08/2/2013 12:31 | If you think PZC is overvalued (I'm not so sure) then have a look at CPR that really is nuts. | toffeeman
07/2/2013 17:15 | Buy price of 119p in 2010. ....mentioning the divi yield wrt that price is imho.....nuts !! You are sitting on capital gain of 280p. You really care what about the divi yield of 12p ?!! Possibly a double top ....400p now and in 2011.... while short term down side support is 300p.... risk/reward --- The valuation of PZC....seems to think it is a high growth software company ! (and its not) --- What's another name for a divi yield investor ? "Poor" ! (Thomas Cook.....switched off their divi...as part of the crashing share price .. as have so many others... one should not get too fixed on the divi.....its only part of the picture....) ...oh, and looks like PZC has slashed its divi wrt what it used to pay....expect those people are not too happy ! | markt
06/2/2013 23:40 | markt is filtered and has been for years. I can't be bothered with his posting tourettes. | bonio10000
06/2/2013 19:41 | It was not me who slagged you off if you bothered to read the posts properly. | gateside
06/2/2013 19:40 | I have an average buy price of 119p ~ so today's dividend for me is equivalent to a 7% yield. I have many other higher yielding shares but bought these for their growth and that is exactly what they have given me. Top sliced some profits when they hit 400p back in 2010. You seem fixated on Nigeria, but big profits also coming from Indonesia, which has one of the fastest growing populations and the population has a rapidly increasing in dispensable income. Don't know why you are trying to de-ramp this share on this BB. It has only had 300 posts in over 8 years... you're wasting your breath!!! | gateside
06/2/2013 12:20 | "Africa 156.9 162.7 13.0 13.7 " " Nigeria, which accounts for approximately 90% of African revenues" "offset by decline in Africa as a result of tough trading conditions, particularly in Nigeria " "tough trading conditions" overall turnover up by 0.8M in 414M ie. not even keeping up with inflation with inflation....sales are falling !! with exceptional charges profit was only slightly up (directors love to move stuff out and call it an exceptional, 'things' always happen, exceptional costs are often routine 'things that will happen' and not exceptional) and to get small increase in profit after excepts. cost them 50M ! (debt increase)...many orders of magnitude higher... a good company produces profits, produces cash and organic growth.....not increasing its debt size as PZC has "Outlook Trading conditions in most markets remain challenging with continued pressures on consumer disposable income." "Trading conditions in the Group's largest market Nigeria remain fragile with unrest in the north continuing" " the range of potential outcomes being largely dependent on trading in the Group's largest market Nigeria during its peak season over the coming months. " (and by saying Nigeria....they also mean the exchange rate between Nigeria and the UK, and Nigerian exchange rate is probably volatile....ie. lots of risk to be put into valuing the share (if Nigerian money falls wrt pound then profit also falls since report in UK pounds)) 1 murmur or news that is bad for PZC or Nigeria then this is worth 3 quid very quickly imo. Upside, personally, none, but who knows what crazy price some fund manager from Eton may pay. (some buys are perhaps generated by index or computer trading rather than valuing the share) | markt
06/2/2013 11:14 | Gateside What ya gonna spend your 2p interim dividend on......(in return for paying 420p to buy the share) A Mars bar ? maybe a mini-Mars bar ! A cup of coffee ? (if of interest....I posted a good number of times on Thomas Cook msg board that it was a good short at 160-170p, and why.........went to around 20p and similar for Kesa (now called Darty) from 105p.....now 52p) did I get slagged off by all the other posters..as being an idiot..of course ! | markt
06/2/2013 10:43 | Gateside if PZC were to increase profits....(after increased labour costs due to inflation and transport costs and.... even if profits went from 14p to 20p it would still be on a p/e of over 20 ! and those increased profits would only be used to pay down the debt it built up last year... imo..p/e > 20 nuts (margins for UK sales and European sales will be under pressure....(HMV bust, Jessops bust, MKS going nowhere (yet more new dirs), Darty struggling (sold Comet since losing too much), many empty shops,....) ---- Brokers have listed as strong sell, sell, or hold. None have as a buy as far as I can see. council taxes going up....spare cash in peoples pockets going down...= pressure on margins PZC outcome depends on....Nigeria....fam | markt
05/2/2013 22:11 | markt is a consistent troll on many threads. Aleks? How's the short? | bonio10000
05/2/2013 18:11 | Palm Oil prices have declined 29% in recent weeks and this is a major raw material for PZ products. Will mean greater profits in future months. | gateside
05/2/2013 15:14 | How's about you give me 410p and I promise to give you 7p back every year ? and your 410p is used to make a profit of 14p per year, so with 7p returned to you....the remaining cash builds up at 7p per year.... and there is a debt linked to the 410p.... (and for the 410p you get the rights to little in the way of assets...and flat results....) and the perf. for the year depends on.....Nigeria !....that global powerhouse ! while results in the rest of the world are poor and expected to stay that way... RU interested ? Will you get your investment money back before you pass on ?!....'cause its gonna years and years.... | markt
05/2/2013 15:11 | uh.....no way way over priced imho I think its just computer trading linked to the FTSE and illiquidity that is moving it up.... a few sellers or downgrades...and down it will go imo....just needs a trigger | markt
05/2/2013 14:53 | markt You don't like the share then? red | redartbmud
