haroldthegreat - I accept that but the crux is whether Stevia will be rolled out as a replacement to other more harmful sweetners... The setback with vitamin water suggests this is far from certain... in a healthy product like vitamin water its consumers might be considered to care less about taste than health.. however, this has been shown to not be the case...

it is only withdrawing it from the original version that was changed , not from the zero version which has it in as well. nobody says that stevia tastes like sugar what they say is that it sweetens without the calories and so is healthier.
i changed from sugar to saccharine in my drinks years ago and i still like both. when i tried stevia i did not like it as much as the other 2 so i continued with the saccharine because i was used to it..
if someone is forced to reduce their sugar intake for any reason ,if the first thing they try is stevia and accept thats what they have to use to remain healthy they will stay with it and get used to it.
a lot of people have doubts about the saccharine and will not use that.
obesity and diabetes are rising so a replacement for sugar will have to be used for those requiring a sweetened product.
as yet there have been no safety concerns about stevia which is more than can be said about all the other alternative sweeteners.

coke cut Stevia from Vitamin Water... as such the prospect of it in the main coke brand is less likely

I have a sell order in just above £6 purely to give me a nice round number proffit but I wonder if the chart isn't looking like a bit of a coiled spring? Been in consolidation for over 6 months. I was looking to sell with the MCAP being so big but then if they can make it work with Coca Cola that's got to be the ultimate customer for a sweetener manufacturer?

you will only find out if he goes over 29.9%. I think its a sell without Wang Tek.
Re sugar -think stevia still gives a slightly different taste so that may explain. The drinks companies are under some pressure to reduce calories in soft beverages...

is he buying them for fun? he is either going to make a bid or he thinks they are undervalued and a good investment. it does not really matter which ,as its got to be a good sign. the launch of coke life can only increase stevia sales. its interesting that they have mixed it with sugar rather than replace the sugar. any reduction in calories is a good for health.

you can do loads of analysis on stevia and its markets etc but this share price is being determined by Wang Tek. you can see the latest from them on yesterday's RNS.
this is why I wouldn't short here, though on fundamentals it looks overbought.
Not that the coke news is not good for the longer term story........

trying to catch up here.

I note the one thing with stevia is the taste which is improving all the time.

Just spotted Cargill with Viatech and tasteva with tate and lyle. Viatech seems to have captured some attention.

Are any of these products linked to PURE

what shareprophets do not understand is that if big companies have formulated products using reb a they have to keep using it until they can reformulate using reb m. they have to do stabilty tests on the products , taste trials , market research with consumers etc so even if they want to use reb m it would probably take a year to get the new products to market. in the meantime they would still be using the products based on reb a. there are many products already on the market using reb a and they will continue to be sold and our stocks used up.

I wonder why Tate&Lyle hasn't crashed down to earth, if taking the market share of sugar was going to be that fast, then that would have been the end of the old British sugar (TATE). If you on are board, ride the momentum, but not for me at this price.

All good news here. But I have trouble in finding the proper valuation for this.
Looks rather overbought in terms of forecasts-still its a story that the market likes.Just think it will take a bit longer than expected to become commercial.

PureCircle Limited FDA GRAS "No Objection" for New Rebaudioside MTIDMPURERNS Number : 5257WPureCircle Limited30 December 2013PureCircle Limited30 December 2013PureCircle Receives FDA GRAS "No Objection" for New Rebaudioside M Stevia SweetenerPureCircle (LSE: PURE): Following its FDA GRAS filing in May, PureCircle, the world's leading stevia producer and marketer is pleased to announce that the U. S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a No Objection letter for the use of PureCircle Rebaudioside M (Reb M) as a general purpose sweetener for foods and beverages in the United States. High-purity Reb M (also known as Reb X) has a closer taste to table sugar than previous stevia ingredients, allowing for deeper calorie reductions in food and beverage products, particularly those that have higher levels of sweetness. The discovery and development of Reb M resulted from a previously announced joint development and five-year supply agreement with The Coca-Cola Company. Together the companies are seeking global intellectual property coverage for the ingredient. The clean, sugar-like sweetness of high-purity Reb M is appealing to consumers seeking naturally sweetened food and beverage formulations with few to no calories. Its commercialization will play an important role in extending PureCircle's breakthrough Stevia 3.0 TM innovation, which optimizes taste in stevia-sweetened foods and beverages. The GRAS confirmation of PureCircle Reb M adds to the company's leadership position in bringing stevia innovation to the market. The investment in supply chain assets and leaf development are in place to support the commercialization of Reb M and the company has commenced trial production of the ingredient. PureCircle is excited by the opportunities Reb M presents for success within the framework of the company's Stevia 3.0 TM capabilities.
