Solar Battery Storage - New product for a fast growing market

Proton Power Systems has launched a new product line for Solar Battery Storage (SPBS3000) and secured orders in Germany and the Middle East



Proton Power Systems (AIM:PPS) is pleased to announce that its subsidiary SPower has launched a new product for Solar Battery Storage Systems. The first model, SPBS3000, is a small Battery Storage System which is connected with a Solar Module System. It allows storage of the solar power during the day and provides energy at night. It also serves as a UPS "Uninterruptible Power Supply System" with a 15kWh Battery. The System can be used on or off grid and can feed power into the grid. It also can work in combination with a diesel generator and is specified for EMEA markets for multi usage functionality. It is made in Germany and will be sold at a very competitive price. In the coming twelve months additional power ratings will be released.

The market for solar module and battery storage systems is growing very fast. Falling costs for these systems and rising prices for grid power make it an easy investment decision. SPower will sell to solar installers or Utility Companies for private or smart grid applications.

John Wall, Chairman of Proton said, "This product solves an acute problem for existing and future solar systems where power is generated during the day and sold to the grid at a discounted rate and then has to be purchased back from the grid in the evening at full commercial rates. We are excited about this product line and look forward to seeing rapid sales growth for SPower. The market needs solar storage systems and we can now supply them. More power ratings will follow soon."

question now is how long is the field trial basis for - weeks / months - years

The vehicle is available immediately for field testing by interested customers in the box van and tail lift configuration. The project was supported by funding from the NIP (National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology Innovation programme).
