ProPhotonix Limited, (London Stock Exchange - AIM: PPIX and PPIR; OTC: STKR), a designer and manufacturer of LED illumination systems, laser diode modules and a distributor of premium vendor's laser diodes, today announces the release of the 3D PRO Variable Focus Laser, an extension of the structured light laser product portfolio. With this release, the company further solidifies its position as a world-leader in laser and LED systems for the Machine Vision market.

The 3D PRO Variable Focus Laser is an externally focusable, 19mm diameter industry-standard laser module that can seamlessly integrate into existing systems. With line widths from 30µm to 120mm, a wide variety of wavelengths ranging from the UV to the infrared and power levels up to 100mW, it offers excellent uniformity and optical flexibility. It is also available in a number of beam options including single, dotted line, multiline, and crosshair.

The adjustable external focus allows users to fine-tune the laser for optimal performance without the need for complex tools. The unique external focus mechanism preserves factory set alignment and bore sight settings while its lock-in mechanism maintains desired focal distance. In addition, it can be configured for a wide range of focus and beam shaping options.

The 3D PRO Variable Focus Laser is compatible with the majority of existing machine vision applications including 3D measurement, dimensional scanning, positioning, high speed sorting, and inspection.

Reading between the lines of today's accounts it seems to me that potential massive dilution coming - Cannot see why this remains a listed company and would expect it to go private in the near future

Or am I being too harsh ?

[Declaration I have never held but has been on the watch list as a potential growth sector but has never cut the mustard - imo etc}

Be interesting to see what the results contain -

MMs offering a measly 25k at 2p - so very tight limits. Bid is actually 1.75p at mid. TB had a 30p target.

Any views ? This is what they said last results -



"In the meantime, management continues aggressively to manage costs and excluding planned sales expenditures which increased 25% year over year, other operating expenses declined in the first half versus the prior year 2011. Furthermore, customer activity is increasing and our engineering team has never been busier working on new OEM driven opportunities. With the expansion of the sales force, we expect a significant sequential increase in revenues in the second half of the year versus the first half of 2012 and a corresponding improvement in overall financial performance of the Company," added Blodgett.

Looking at these further - It would suggest that these could be a t/o target with the LED market rapidly growing -

Clearly a lot into R&D - and a lot taken in the last placing @ 13p - can they make it?
