07/11/2013 07:59 | 7 November 2013 ProPhotonix Limited ("ProPhotonix" or "the Company") ProPhotonix releases the 3D PRO Variable-Focus Structured Light Laser Module New solution provides seamless integration, excellent uniformity and flexibility for Machine Vision systems ProPhotonix Limited, (London Stock Exchange - AIM: PPIX and PPIR; OTC: STKR), a designer and manufacturer of LED illumination systems, laser diode modules and a distributor of premium vendor's laser diodes, today announces the release of the 3D PRO Variable Focus Laser, an extension of the structured light laser product portfolio. With this release, the company further solidifies its position as a world-leader in laser and LED systems for the Machine Vision market. The 3D PRO Variable Focus Laser is an externally focusable, 19mm diameter industry-standard laser module that can seamlessly integrate into existing systems. With line widths from 30µm to 120mm, a wide variety of wavelengths ranging from the UV to the infrared and power levels up to 100mW, it offers excellent uniformity and optical flexibility. It is also available in a number of beam options including single, dotted line, multiline, and crosshair. The adjustable external focus allows users to fine-tune the laser for optimal performance without the need for complex tools. The unique external focus mechanism preserves factory set alignment and bore sight settings while its lock-in mechanism maintains desired focal distance. In addition, it can be configured for a wide range of focus and beam shaping options. The 3D PRO Variable Focus Laser is compatible with the majority of existing machine vision applications including 3D measurement, dimensional scanning, positioning, high speed sorting, and inspection. Ken Reynolds, Manager of Business and Technology Development commented, "By extending our current line of 3D PRO lasers to include 3D PRO Variable Focus, our team has developed a laser that offers OEMs and end users greater flexibility, higher performance, and ease of integration with the added benefit of an easily adjustable, external focus mechanism." Tim Losik, CEO and Chairman of ProPhotonix stated, "The 3D Pro Variable Focus extends our laser diode module family and is an additional step in our comprehensive laser solutions roadmap that will continue into 2014. It also reaffirms our leadership in the machine vision marketplace." Losik continued, "We recently established the ProPhotonix blog to share our experience and insight in laser module and LED solutions with our constituents on a more interactive basis. We will update it frequently with our observations on emerging Laser and LED technologies addressing many markets including machine vision, medical applications, security, and UV applications. Our first entry features the benefits of green lasers and can be found at www.photonixpro.com. Click here for more information about the 3D Laser Pro Variable Focus DC | daicaprice

28/5/2013 08:54 | Reading between the lines of today's accounts it seems to me that potential massive dilution coming - Cannot see why this remains a listed company and would expect it to go private in the near future Or am I being too harsh ? [Declaration I have never held but has been on the watch list as a potential growth sector but has never cut the mustard - imo etc} | pugugly

25/4/2013 12:35 | Any views ? This is what they said last results - "In the meantime, management continues aggressively to manage costs and excluding planned sales expenditures which increased 25% year over year, other operating expenses declined in the first half versus the prior year 2011. Furthermore, customer activity is increasing and our engineering team has never been busier working on new OEM driven opportunities. With the expansion of the sales force, we expect a significant sequential increase in revenues in the second half of the year versus the first half of 2012 and a corresponding improvement in overall financial performance of the Company," added Blodgett. | tomboyb
24/4/2013 14:07 | Looking at these further - It would suggest that these could be a t/o target with the LED market rapidly growing - Clearly a lot into R&D - and a lot taken in the last placing @ 13p - can they make it? | tomboyb
24/4/2013 13:48 | Seen APC - in the same sector | tomboyb |
