agree with that Paul, and don't forget the healthy cash position - as previously stated, IMO:-

Potential y/e 2003 cash position:-

As at y/e 2002 Cash, securities - £14m
Bank Loans - £2m
Net Cash - £12m
Purchase of IMS Telecom (May 03)- £2m
Sale of PTD (July 03) - £2m
Potential min free cash y/e 03 - £7m

Potential y/e 03 Net Cash - £19m

if you assume that whoever buys them would be doing so because they can INCREASE profits through the merger, then you have to look at the fact that they made £12 million plus last year, and are expecting to make the same again this year DESPITE difficult conditions, so as a bigger company, what would youpay for profits STARTING at £12 million, plus all the extra margins youd be able to make on the things you have in common with them....?...frankly i think that paying £200 million for them would be reasonable, and a bidding war may see someone go above that...and i think mkt cap of £200 million is jsut under £1 per share??..certainly a hold below 80p i think

May see an opening bid of 75p to flush out others. Expect bids to increase to near £1. Was going to sell 1/2 my stock once above 70p, but think that I'll hold on and see what happens.

75p mentioned in the times today as possible vod bid - with 5 others bidding this could hot up.

Project Telecom dialled higher as suitors prepare to call
By Michael Jivkov
30 July 2003

The main focus for market gossips yesterday was without doubt Project Telecom as talk circled City dealing rooms that a formal bid for the group is just around the corner. The company, which provides mobile and fixed-line telecom services to corporates, saw its share price respond to the speculation by putting on 2.5p to 61.5p.

Earlier this month Project Telecom announced that it had received several bid approaches. Word has it the company is, in effect, being auctioned off to the highest bidder and its is believed that the blue blooded merchant bank Rothschild is managing the sale. There are said to be as many as six contenders looking to gain control of the company and leading the pack of suitors is Vodafone. Some in the market reckon the mobile phone giant is willing to pay up to 70p a share in order to win control of the group.

The sale of Project Telecom would make Tim Radford, its founder and chief executive, a multi-millionaire given his 24 per cent stake in the group. However, it has been far from plain sailing for Mr Radford. In April, Project Telecom shares halved after a profit warning. At the time the company complained that it was facing tough competition in the business market from mobile phone operators such as T-Mobile and Orange.

nice work potentials - article reproduced from independent (also available from link in header)

HOLD for at least 20-25% to come IMO

PROJECT TELECOM (LSE: PJT.L - news)

The Independent said the British mobile phone reseller was the subject of market talk with a formal bid in the offing. Some six companies are said to be interested with Vodafone the front runner, according to the paper.

agree, something going on behind the scenes, edging up today, but can't see why.
The next numbers release was due on 29th Aug. If we separate 2 issues, IMO:-

1. Y/E forecast - analysing the expected y/e numbers forecast, the share price should be > 70p.

2. Bid approaches - the value of the business should be nearing £1 per share, depending on how many bidders there are.

Even if there is no bid, I think the share price is returning to where it should be...........

halfpenny'

if that was the case it is likely that the price would have moved today as your posts were made just before 10am - looks like you are ramping to me - if this is the case then i for one would prefer it if you could resist the urge to post anything at all at least on this stock.

now that you have contributed on this thread, i am beginning to get worried because you always have the kiss of death. But let's hope it's an exception this time.

Where there is a sale there is a buyer, and someone wants more. The MM have tried rattling the tree so now they are offering more.

The company was floated at 70p and I doubt if major shareholders would want to sell for less. I would have thought 80p was the target! Good luck to all.
