10/12/2015 07:12 | Tim Sykes last day at Avacta, today. 100% PHD noe if he wasn't already. | p1nkfish
04/12/2015 14:13 | Could be on for a break out this afternoon | hydrus
03/12/2015 11:27 | A few buyers here this morning before 9am, though volume remains light at 35K. Maybe PHD has got a mention in the press. Current 123p-130p +1.5p | eagle eye
06/11/2015 11:00 | their software is written in .Net, just a programming language and very widely used. Nothing to worry about. | oregano
06/11/2015 08:20 | Hydrus My research, following excessive FEVR consumption, shows that a month without tonic is needed for the liver to recover. Day two already. Thinking about it, I do understand PHD's business reasonably well, where I lack understanding is about their vulnerability to competition and/or a change in Microsoft policies. Clearly the management are doing very well and I just assume it is a well run company operating in a developing niche. I noticed that they made a couple of cheap digs at Tungsten during the presentation. It is remarkable that the two of them are operating in the same niche. apad | apad
31/10/2015 18:14 | H, I just wish I understood their business better. I can do metrology (RSW) and pumps (WEIR), and castings (GDWN). Gut feel rules with PHD, I guess. Hey Ho. apad | apad
31/10/2015 16:02 | Very good presentation, clearly on top of their brief. It's been moving up towards the highest confidence part of my portfolio for good reason. Apad I'm on the Fevertree light ginger beer due to recent excess consumption. Very nice it is too. | hydrus
30/10/2015 21:51 | If they don't lose their way this is still a possible multi-bagger from here in mho. However, volatility may be the order of the day on the way up. Should they raise funds for acquisition I hope they give PI's a chance to partake rather than just issue to institutions or management. Have some money parked just in case over the next few months. | p1nkfish
30/10/2015 21:44 | I have been in PHD for quite a while and low average price. It was attractive on the basis they could prosper in inflation/deflation, had catalysts for change possible, paid a divi through thick and thin AND........the whole bunch had a good track record in their market. Rodney Potts - very useful as Non-Exec (sold Union 4 if I remember correctly), Alan Aubrey and the executive management were very down to earth. No BS, not 30 words when 10 would do. Tim Sykes was part time and I wrote to ask a few questions - about 3 years back - and I really like the fact they wrote back very succinctly on the cheapest piece of paper imaginable. I really like that sort of thing. A good sign when a company is able to pay a divi and keeps the paper cheap. Vey much hope they don't lose the knack of keeping costs down. | p1nkfish
30/10/2015 19:43 | Well I increased at £1 so quite happy. Content to see how this plays out over the next few years. | hydrus
30/10/2015 18:52 | Im generally a bear of all......here im a bull | elcapital
30/10/2015 18:47 | That is what happens if you go off topic ! lol | davidosh
30/10/2015 18:35 | Me too, david osh. I was talking about the other guys. Pay attention at the back there. apad | apad
30/10/2015 18:08 | Personally I think that Tim Sykes the FD is very impressive and exactly the type of guy you want in that role. These two are very straight talking northerners. I think PI World did an excellent job with the video. | davidosh
30/10/2015 17:41 | Enjoy and raise a glass of FEVR & Gin to me. My gut feel about the Trakm8 was that it was Android gimmick led. There was a psychological study that showed it to be almost impossible to stop taxi drivers charging up behind cars in front and slamming on the brakes.... Sorry for the off-topic folks, but it was triggered by how impressive the PHD people are - that's my excuse anyroadup. apad ps Did I mention the haircut? | apad
30/10/2015 16:39 | Haha ok I'll watch both this weekend. The market does believe in Trakm8 that's for sure. | hydrus
30/10/2015 16:37 | No, it's probably the haircut. They seem to be doing well and announce orders but I don't believe :-) I have a small holding in Quartix, which seems to be run by more workaday folk - a bit like the PHD folks. Pity my holding in PHD is small - a large percentage growth in something small is still small! apad ps Worth watching, just for the haircut. | apad
30/10/2015 16:28 | I was maybe being slow, APAD - I take it you are not a fan of the Trakm8 one.... | hydrus
30/10/2015 16:18 | H, Just another presentation - a wonderful contrast between these guys and a couple of salesmen. www.piworld.co.uk/vi | apad
30/10/2015 15:25 | APAD what does the reference to Trakm8 mean? | hydrus
30/10/2015 15:01 | Here is a link which will work | davidosh
30/10/2015 13:16 | Stunning. c.f. Trakm8. Totally seduced by the accents and pragmatism. Jesu, I must have been good when I bought this stock :-) Thanks for the link. apad | apad
30/10/2015 11:46 | Tomps2 Thanks for the link. An excellent presentation with a run time of 1hr 20mins. If you want to know what the business is about, this is a great place to find out. | eagle eye
30/10/2015 10:09 | Here's a link to Proactis presenting at Mello 19.10.15 Rod Jenkins CEO & Tim Sykes CFO, outlining strategy and future vision. www.piworld.co.uk/ne (Sorry link above doesn't work!) | tomps2 |
