PCF is on Simon Thompson’s 10 Bargain Shares for 2018. Might be a positive price response today

I’ve also had a fee nibbles recently & added a further 50k a few minutes ago.

Market simply seem disinterested at the moment. Ideal time to add.

Kind regards

Large late trades today.

Which explains why the share price hasn't been rising...

Hopefully they have cleared now.

Wow, the bid has actually moved up again on what is tiny volume. Hopefully the sellers in this area are done.

Oh, and more importantly I see they have won the savings champion 2018 award for best new provider

CC agree with all you say. Would add though that the initiation note by Panmures about two years ago was headlined “PCF. A potential tenbagger”. Actually, have just dug that out. Was 19June 2014 and the price at the time was 10.1p with a target of 14p !!! So, at 25p we are only a quarter of the way there.

On the June 14 note the last forecast was for 2017 with Adj PBT of £3m and eps of 1.8p. They actually produced £5m PBT and Adj eps of 2p. The eps figure is low because of dilution from the capital raises. So, since the 2014 Panmures note, they are 60% ahead on PBT. And Panmures now have a target price of 42p, c60% higher than now.

Scott and the team are really classy. They deliver what they say. I have no problem buying more at these levels and waiting for the market to start focusing on 2019-20

CC, I'm a long term holder here, the market only seems interested in short term plays and I view this as a 3-5 investment.Been holding PCF as shares or via loan notes for 10+ years. The banking licence they hold could be very valuable if someone wanted a quick route into the UK market IMHO.

I attended about 10 presentations last year run by Shares/NEX/Proactive and saw Scott present at one of those. I guess I saw about 40 presentations overall and PCF was the only one I bought.

I bought because it ticked all the boxes. Credible presenter, credible business, transparent finances and transparent long term business plan with (incredible) growth potential. The banking licence although designed to source funds more cheaply was also a bonus as in 5 years I'm sure the Board's ambitions will broaden and banking licences aren't easy to get and imho have a value way in excess of that perceived by the market.

However, to come to the point out of about 80 people there I suspect I was the only one who bought. Everyone else was interested in the really high risk oil and commodity stocks and that was all everyone wanted to talk about after the presentation.

It's sad to say that most PI's are always looking for the next 10 bagger and appear to ignore great stocks like this until later in the development phase.

I made alot of money off SHAW and ALD over the last 18 months as the market woke up to what they were offering. I believe PCF can do the same although it's much more a 5 year play, which SHAW and ALD were but they were/are subject to takeovers as competitors noticed their value even if the market didn't.

I guess I'm just a little frustrated. I can understand a pullback of 10% to 28 on the bid to buy, but a pullback all the way to 25 seems overdone to me

Graham1TY - you could argue that TRIAD PLC (TRD) is even cheaper and it gives a dividend. I own both.

CC I am not sure why this is off everyone’s radar as they did lots of presentations over the last couple of years. The banking license was explained, Scott comes across very well, they have a very experienced Board and a great FD, and the backing of Somers ( who are a partner, not just a shareholder).

Yes, the cost of the banking license has hit eps growth for this year, but if the stated loan book targets ( £350m, then £750m) and ROE targets (12.5%, then 17.5%) are met, then this is one of the cheapest stocks around.

Good point about the Director buying Graham so I went and did some research. The recent director buys have been.

Anthony 71k at 28p on 27/06
Bull 67k at 22.89 - don't have a date
Brown 55k at 28p 26/10/17
Brown 80k at 25p 17/03/17
Morgan 147k at 26.75p 25/04/17
Franklin 43k at 28p 06/04/17

I may have missed some.

It would seem this stock is completely off most people's radar given the low volume and lack of support coming in where the directors were buying.

It is falling towards the level before the “ ahead of expectations “ statement last Sept. ignores the Director buy at 28p.

Surprised also that not appeared on anyone tipsheet for the year

What would be a good share for 2018 would be a share that hedges its bets. Could give you growth if the market continues up OR gives you a dividend if the market peaks.

So PCF - In a sense is like gold. A reasonable safe haven. Perhaps we can have our cake and eat it.

We will see.

GingerPlant - we have had a long debate regarding the dividend and yield over the last 100 posts or so.

I hold the view that this stock isn't about yield at the moment and although say a 20% increase in dividend each year would be welcome I am more interested in the long term growth which will flow into dividends in due course.

Others see the dividend growth differently. You will have to make your own mind up.
