this is the crux for this company about 90% of spend with them is for marketing purposes... thus the recession and cutbacks hit them hard....

longer-term my worry is that marketing spend just moves online.... PDC have a reasonable franchise though... however, who wants to pay to make a newsletter or a piece of marketing literature.... especially with people buying tablet computers.....

The drop in share price is way overdone for "marginally below market expectations" imho. Should recover for results.
Off topic take a look at AFNR, a real bargain. I've posted some research on the bb.

Looks as though the recession and internet are now starting to catch up. Remember warnings usually come in sets of 3.

Steep markdown - only 1500 sold but down to 27p-Any guesses as to where it will stop ?

Still on the sidelines.

After all the small sale of shares building up. Some one after time comes in and buys 50,000 do they now something about Tuesdays announcment. As usual the market makers have been pushing the price down the last week to make it look like a large percentage markup on Tuesday. Heres hoping it will be good results

Of more interest are the businesses in France and Ireland. These should generate both royalties and business through the hub in Manchester.
I see France is showing some 17 outlets, which is more than the last time I looked. They need to get their act together in Ireland though.
Whilst nice to see the US growing, the returns will be smaller since they will only receive small royalties from their US partner.

The data on their web site (regarding outlet numbers) is always behind schedule - let's see what the results bring.

The Uk was shut for business in January, I look at the trading statement as ok considering things are not yet starting to grow. Picked up some more for 33.7 pence and at a div of 3.2pence am very happy

EI,

Had they been a single entity of traditional model then I don't doubt that they would have been badly affected. I believe that their business model is the key to success.

I have to admit I thought that PDC would be hammered by the Recession.
Well done to those who kept faith.
