04/10/2011 11:31 | Does that mean you should be snapping them up at 25p then for a quick 40% gain! Still don't have the confidence to double up here. TN | twistednik
04/10/2011 11:28 | Prime Focus Limited paying 35p for Prime Focus London shares is at least simple to understand. I don't know how the business of Prime Focus London can be separated from Prime Focus Limited when global workflows are involved. The structure may have worked several years ago when postproduction was more local but it is an anomaly now which will have to be resolved. | littleredrooster
04/10/2011 11:25 | I'll take 35p and use the income to top up my AGL holdings... | bobbarker
04/10/2011 11:16 | That's what i was thinking. 35p should be the lowest acceptable price to small shareholders. They will still require 90% acceptances for a squeeze out. Are they trying to buy the rest of this business on the cheap? Surely there are a couple of large institutional shareholders with holds in PFO who will make sure we get fair value here. TN | twistednik
04/10/2011 11:08 | That may be an indication that Prime Focus Limited intends to make an offer to buy the other Prime Focus London shares at 35p. By the way, there is quite a lot of discussion about Prime Focus on the Forbidden Technologies (FBT) board but perhaps not on the main subjects of interest to posters on this board. | littleredrooster
04/10/2011 11:03 | Looks like prime focus india are consolidating their hold on the Company! although they did pay 35p a share. I fear for us smaller shareholders. At least AIM requires some semblence of arms length transactions... "As Prime Focus Limited is a substantial shareholder of the Company, it is classified as a related party of the Company under the AIM Rules for Companies and, accordingly, the sale of the View-D business falls to be treated as a related party transaction under Rule 13 of the AIM Rules for Companies. The independent directors, having consulted with the Company's nominated adviser, consider that the terms of the transaction are fair and reasonable insofar as the Company's shareholders are concerned." We live in hope! TN | twistednik

04/10/2011 11:00 | Napolean - I agree with your remark! This is my main concern also...and the issue with the ownership structure. | twistednik
04/10/2011 07:54 | Tell that to shareholders of Toledo Mining TMC :-( | david77
04/10/2011 01:11 | The Non Exc directors of any company have a duty to shareholders to make sure a fair price is paid.!! | tara7
03/10/2011 19:24 | Bought a little sliver today. My "angst" is the majority held by India; near 60%. With that voting majority India can dictate the terms. They won't be asking us what we want & probably don't care much, so all that potential could be bought at a rip-off price... & stuff us! | napoleon 14th
02/10/2011 07:44 | Sales shot up 43% and that trend is going one way.Higher | tara7
02/10/2011 07:12 | PFO: Very upbeat here, first we have EPS of over 11p that"s is being invested back in for yet more growth. = PE of just 2.!! Next look at the profit, [that is in two halfs,] one half that made a profit of over £7M on T/O of £21M.!!! the other lost £3M . The £3M loss due to this start up writing off costs as incured.!! [ie one off costs.] Growing faster than a train. This is to be sold to the Indian company as far as i can see, as they would want to keep it" in house" [and for a fat sum if you ask me.!!] That means the company could make £7M this year plus the one off profit from the sale to the Indian company for a PE of under 1.!!! Real, value to be found here, as T/O and profits are growin super fast. | tara7
02/10/2011 03:43 | nice work Tara keep it up what was your take on PFOs results? i have a small holding only | divinausa1
30/9/2011 07:35 | Had to be a catch ! The year to end March 2011 benefitted from a number of exceptionally profitable contracts which may or may not be repeated in the current year. Discussions continue with the parent company to evaluate how to align the Group's interests. | kinghorm23
21/9/2011 12:33 | Ok, i found the shareholding, but still concerned re the involvement of PFO india and why the London shareholders are not seeing any value: Shareholder Shares Number Holding Percentage Prime Focus Limited 19,567,003 59.60% Rock (Nominees) Limited 3,340,000 10.17% Oryx International Growth Fund Limited 1,800,000 5.48% Chase Nominees Ltd 1,117,000 3.40% | twistednik
21/9/2011 12:27 | How can this busines upstream revenue to Prime Focus India without paying a dividend to other shareholders? I beleive in the market growth and that this business is doing well ...but the transparency around the corporate structure and ownership structure is alarming! | twistednik
21/9/2011 12:04 | Tara - what's the free float of these shares? There is never any volume and they appear illiquid. This company seems just to operate as a subsidiary of the Indian parent - do they give a damn about any other shareholders? What will it take to rerate these shares upwards...some kind of dividend would be good if they are that profitable!? | twistednik
04/9/2011 08:31 | From LG Electronics Targets Fivefold Gain in 3-D TV Market Share - so they must think that 3D is gonna be big | david77
19/8/2011 19:14 | I am confused about exactly what role prime focus has in these huge blockbuster movies. Am i correct in thinking the are contracted to do small parts of the 2d to 3d post-filming production? I have looked over the website an am still unsure. Thank you to anyone who can help. | sundance99
04/8/2011 09:37 | Note the bit about 3D.!! | tara7
04/8/2011 09:34 | So, PFO has just had two films that have taken a Billion each at the box office in the last 5 weeks.!!! Note only 10 films have EVER taken a Billion.!!! News 'Transformers' Becomes Tenth Billion-Dollar Movie Ever; 'Potter' Hits Another Worldwide Milestone by Ray Subers August 3, 2011 Transformers: Dark of the Moon joined Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 in the $1 billion worldwide club yesterday. This marked the first time in history that three movies from the same year, much less the same season, all reached that mark, and it spoke volumes about the expanding nature of the foreign market as well as the continued popularity of 3D outside of America. The third Transformers is the tenth movie ever to earn $1 billion worldwide, and it moved past The Dark Knight to rank ninth on the all-time chart. | tara7
14/7/2011 12:52 | MM mark shares down on a buy!! 27p | tara7
12/7/2011 13:47 | Transformers 3 has not only been making a fortune at the box office but has reversed the downward spiral of 3D ticket sales. Leading up to the Green Lantern film audiences have been tuning out of 3D with Green Lantern's 3d ticket sales reportedly making up less than 40% of its revenue. Transformers 3 has seen an impressive 60% of its revenue come from 3D ticket sales according to The Wrap. The studio put a lot of effort into promoting the 3D techniques used in Transformers so this combined with a very popular franchise likely helped 3D sales thrive with fans. | tara7 |
