21/2/2017 12:14 | In the space of 20 mins they took out every bid level from 79.75 to 78.50 and flooded the sell side with dozens of small orders of less than 10k All during which time the brent price was solid over $57 They are throwing the kitchen sink at this to stop PMO having a good day on a good day for Brent I think this is linked to the warrants....are they shorting, safe in the knowledge that they can cover with cheap shares yet to be issued? | nav_mike
21/2/2017 11:08 | Eastenderboy.. Yes just what I was thinking, with POO around 57$ , Pmo shorters about to get squeezed 😄 And will. E forced to close.. Should close above 80p today and with OPEC meeting tomorrow .. there is a chance that more KSA cuts are coming and non OPEC pressure to meet 558k commitment in Feb! Only risks are us inventory, prod #s and us exports but should expect imports to drop further as if this week. Rig count should be single digit this week and from here on | oilandgas1

21/2/2017 08:56 | Have to say Beano; VOG is a star performer. PMO will have its day; but under FL TD is a mega doubt | marvin9
21/2/2017 08:50 | Mike (..152) - remember when shorting they don't have to pay that out.... they actually get paid it!!! Although if they "borrow" the stock they're shorting they will have to pay something for that privilege. Of course, if they're "naked" shorting (not sure if this is actually allowed nowadays) there'll be no outgoings. Best way to reduce shorting is to pay dividends (which the shorters will have to pay as hard cash), but we're still a long way from this stage as yet. | steve73
21/2/2017 08:47 | A hypothetical question. If a group of wealthy investors decided to act together to buy small amounts of shares with the aim of forcing the share price up would they be permitted to do so? Or would this be regarded as illegal? | investordave
21/2/2017 08:46 | Above 0.5%, Marshall Wace LLP, seem to be the only company adding to the shorts, every few days. Back on 16th Jan they were only 0.52%. I wonder why they are the only company seem to be adding now, they clearly have their own plan in place. If all the +0.5% shorters were increasing, I would be more concerned. So annoying that one company seems to have this much influence over a share nevertheless. I agree that PMO are terrible at marketing and announcements, never give anything concrete, they are fill of vague wording, which is what the market plays on, the uncertainty, even though I am pretty sure fundamentals will be fine. | user47
21/2/2017 08:45 | A bit green info but it proves a point: | marvin9 |
