10/1/2017 13:29 | Is the debt an issue here?... | diku
10/1/2017 13:09 | Numbers due next week I think (Jan 18?). Surely going to be bad and getting badder. The company is now attempting to push through price increases of 4-8% on its products. Can't see the supermarkets saying yes to that - more likey to say get lost. | grabster
27/12/2016 09:58 | 2 Months passed without a post, must be a record? will there be another bid next year? | patience a virtue
25/10/2016 12:53 | So cheap now. When is the next offer coming....? | h0me
25/10/2016 10:31 | Share price that has continued drifting down has dived faster this morning. Wassup now? | grabster
17/10/2016 10:31 | - except that Tesco predictably stuffed the empty shelf space with its ownbrand alternatives. And shipped those as 'nearest' for online customers with orders already placed. | grabster
17/10/2016 08:37 | (post duplicated) | grabster
12/10/2016 22:38 | Could be less choice on the shelves at Tesco and possibly other retailers if the Unilever spat takes hold - knorr, bovril, pot noodle etc. | geraldus
12/10/2016 21:23 | Penny's hare- plenty of gravy so! | mick
12/10/2016 21:20 | Any views on the possibility of a takeover bid returning before very long? | miikke
12/10/2016 21:10 | They generally make around 60% of revenues between now and xmas. They say we are in for an exceptionally cold winter this year, so no more excuses... | pennysharemillionaire2
12/10/2016 15:19 | Mick If it was warm weather, that effected the selling of Veg,More salad items would be the answer,Bwtfdik. | withoutt
12/10/2016 12:26 | Responsibility for turning down the bid earlier this year must rest with the Board not the management. In the light of today's pathetic excuses about the weather, the decision to block the offer in connivance with Nissin is very regrettable. | mick
12/10/2016 10:42 | isis - your "bisto lollies' jest is not far from something that the company ought to be doing. Not making gravy flavoured lollies - but ensuring that they have a range of products that compensate each other whatever the weather. Like the icecream salesman who also runs a brolly stall from the other side of his van, capitalising on whatever the weather does. | grabster
12/10/2016 10:33 | Well they're not lying about the weather and figures will be inline. A bumper Xmas is needed to keep the faith. Would'nt be surprised to see another bid at some point. | isis
12/10/2016 10:18 | Another lousy update from this company which never fails to disappoint. If not for the recent bid interest the share price would be down at 25p. I would suggest current holders might consider capitalising on this disparity, as I can see nothing to drive the share price forward in the medium term. I very much doubt that McCormick or anyone else will be back to bid for this, with declining sales and a still huge debt | boffster
12/10/2016 10:05 | To be fair that was the hottest September I can remember. Bisto Lollies anyone? | isis
12/10/2016 09:52 | The selfish muppet management here blaming the weather for some grocery sales! Hilarious! Management want shooting for declining the bid. More value destruction to come from the morons in charge here. Sell All imo | sphere25
12/10/2016 09:49 | Some of the 'cost controls' that the company refers to include modifying recipes to include cheaper ingredients. That itself is perfectly reasonable, as long as the alterations don't undermine the quality of the product. Unfortunately I think they have done just that in some lines. The previous owners of these brands will have known that to remain competitive they will have had to do the same and the appeal of the products will have dwindled. That's why they sold them off to Premier in the first place. They saw the writing on the wall. That and the recognition that the advertising needed to maintain awareness of these once-famous brands was becoming prohibitive in the face of better and better substitutes offered by others. The whole concept - the Premier Foods business model - buying up famous brands that canny owners no longer regarded as viable - was doomed from the outset. Everything that the company has tried to do has merely been to try and counter that basic truth. The chairman's announcement a fortnight ago that he is leaving has avoided saying so after these trading figures appeared. | grabster
12/10/2016 09:40 | From a chart perspective it's bounced nicely off the 200 day SMA. Only thing to be concerned about is if the shorter brigade decide to attack as there is a gap at 38.25p to fill from the 28th June. | dealer1972
12/10/2016 09:37 | gRABSTER. COMPLETELY AGREE. However, this company is getting riper by the day for another bid and I have today repurchased this stock, which I sold at 104p many moons ago, in anticipation of a bid. I will not wait for completion before selling again. | hillbrown
12/10/2016 09:37 | Good time to pile in - can't see this going any lower (famous last words). | tini5
12/10/2016 09:31 | Actually bought Bisto Best and Oxo's this week too! What more can one do! | isis
12/10/2016 09:28 | I more or less eat the same food all year round so not affected by weather! This could make a bid more likely though. | isis |
