Why are there buyers above the bid offer price? are they expecting a higher price to be offered, or could there be another bidder?

If someone else wants Poundland there`s Kensico, Blackrock, Axa , Norges, Capital and FIL sitting on 33%.

I`m sure they`d like another 10p/15p ;-)

Disappointed that the poundland board have caved in so easily to a lowly & derisory offer.Their reason for that is in the announcement: they have assurances to keep their jobs & management perks.75% not that easy a hurdle. Gives scope to fight it & hold out for more.

Well they`ve got a few irons in the fire.....

D-day imminent. I feel quietly optimistic but consider a 220 offer price only the opening shot of a hostile take-over attempt.
