24/6/2013 07:33 | Cash generation excellent, technology convincing. Forecasts look low based on interim eps. Glad I didn't press the sell button. Let's hope for some profit taking. bb: noooooo! I've lost too many good companies to takeovers. apad | apad
23/6/2013 18:55 | Could still demand an even higher rating if a predator comes calling. | battlebus2
23/6/2013 13:33 | L It's hard to see PRV doing an ARM, given that it sells filters. However, it is a small company so is perhaps a little more sprightly than its hi-tec cousins. I've bought on 5 occasions over the years, so can stand a pull back if there is one. However, I find it difficult to envisage results so positive as to prevent profit taking on Monday. Let's hope that I am wrong - it's too late to stop now! apad ps you're correct about Schwartz, but given that he bought at 34p I doubt whether his self-flagellation is very vigorous. pps there has been a significant derating of PRV's larger fellows (e.g. ROR, RSW, SPX, etc.) recently. | apad
23/6/2013 11:36 | The current Rising Trend looks very solid. | plasybryn
23/6/2013 11:15 | APAD - I seem to recall about 6 months ago the esteemed David Schwartz drawing a similar conclusion to yours based on known data and some surmising of his own - and I believe he cashed out. I would imagine that now he kicks himself big-time whenever he looks at the PVR chart. At the time I stayed in - indeed increased my holding - because I saw (and still see)the story here as one that is developing and has the potential to deliver returns over the next year or so that will reward one's patience handsomely. We all invest for different reasons and work to different time-horizons. Personally, I can only see yet more upside here in the medium-term given the excellent management within the company and the surging markets that it is involved with. Still, as I say, each to his - or her - own in this game! | lurki0
22/6/2013 22:41 | Fingers crossed for monday | birdsedgeuk
22/6/2013 18:55 | Took me a while too but i've sold out like exbroker, GLA remaining holders. | battlebus2
22/6/2013 18:07 | In April 2 Directors sold about 350,000 shares at 228. PRV is on an historic PER of 30, a price to cash flow of 26 and a price to free cash flow of 33. The only brokers forecast of eps I can find is 11.36. Equity Development suggests a valuation of 230p. I'm having great difficulty stopping myself from pressing the sell button. apad | apad
22/6/2013 11:05 | Thanks Lurki0 follow my posts to see what might be the next index stock in September! | exbroker
21/6/2013 20:12 | Exbroker - thanks for your input and insight over the past month or so. Good luck in your endeavours. | lurki0
21/6/2013 19:47 | Index volume large as expected, not all done by my calculations, all to play for on the figures. I am now out so good luck to all holders. This is a quality company with good management and will stay on my watch list, its just expensive now. | exbroker
20/6/2013 13:03 | All absolutely bang on Mike. We are just waiting to see how much above expectations figures will be. I am hoping that they will surprise on the upside even with revised figures. As important will be forward looking guidance. I'm sure that this will be very positive. The new contract wins are substantial and the most recent acquisition is earnings enhancing. | willydoctor
20/6/2013 09:41 | Naked Trader gave Porvair another thumbs up yesterday "I've built up a massive position in Porvair (PRV) . (Don't ask you'd be surprised). I picked up what will probably be a final lot at just over 270. Some brilliant profits from way lower with the first lot bought in the 60s ! I topped up because it is about to go into the small cap index - expect funds to buy in and push it up further. Any rate they say they will report profits well ahead of expectations." | bigmike100
20/6/2013 09:30 | Not hit my limit yet so not sold any, that may change depends on the trackers and the volume, which is too low at the moment. Aim2 Watch all posts!! | exbroker
19/6/2013 18:36 | Exbroker - I'll watch out for your posts, thank you. But did you just mean on PRV? I suppose not, but on which other pages do you suggest I find you? | aimingupward2
19/6/2013 12:25 | Sell off today looks like an attempt to pick up stock. MMs haven't got any and there's been a good run. Perhaps it is exbroker selling them down!?!?!? | willydoctor
18/6/2013 18:26 | Wow i cant believe how well prv doing. 305 todays high.Do u think itll over cook before results.Im lucky to pick this up from traderdiary site. Sum decent stuff on there | birdsedgeuk
18/6/2013 16:54 | Hi Exbroker - I think you are right - it's a combo. Interesting comparison with GLE whcih has flat lined for the past 2-3 weeks. I wonder if this is simply an index related rise and they are now fully valued. It seems that PRV is also rising on exepctation of the figures. Difficult to know how good things will be but you are right - they will need to be good. Cadaver - depends what you want. Long term hold for value - absolutely definitely. Short term rise for a trade - likely, but depends on next week's figures and how much of the tracker fund buying has taken place. | willydoctor
18/6/2013 15:36 | I love that chart, am I too late to make a killing? | share cadaver
18/6/2013 15:34 | The question here is what has driven the share price for the last 2 months the figures or the indexing players? The stock started to appear on the radar of the index players around the first week in April, which is when I started to buy a few. If it is only the indexing effect then they will fall after they go into the index, I think it is a combination, the figs on Monday will have to be good to hold the price at these levels. | exbroker
18/6/2013 14:50 | Well - getting expensive on current valuation - but depends how good figures and more importantly guidance going forwards. They have a habit of adding substantial contract wins on a regular basis and the Indian one has already been upwardly revised by 25%. | willydoctor
18/6/2013 13:43 | Its a good company but getting expensive I dont have anything like a unit so will be letting mine go over the next few days, there will be large volumes so I will take advantage of it. aimingupward2 keeping an eye on my posts is a good place to start, the September track is always the smallest as the big one is in June and not much will have moved enough to change indexes. | exbroker
18/6/2013 12:46 | PRV now on SETS board. The results will be special on Monday Shauney. I have to say I suspect there will be some selling on the day - but likely to be absorbed by the trackers - so although there may be a dip later in the day / day following, I think they will then continue the upward momentum. This is my biggest holding and doing spectacularly well. The great thing about PRV is the management are extremely effective at winning new business AND turning it into repeat orders - so their EBITDA and profit just continues to rise. Bolt-on acquisitions are earnings enhancing. It reminds me of Weir Group in the early days. I remember buying them for under £2!!! | willydoctor
18/6/2013 12:33 | Straight through the 3 quid.Definatly order driven now. The results on Monday, will have to be special to keep pace with this rise is the lovely problem. | shauney2
18/6/2013 10:33 | Exbroker - how can we learn which companies are likely to enter which indices in September? Many thanks for your help. | aimingupward2 |
