is this the same Portrait Software that's issued a profits warning for its FY2008 numbers? It's already overvalued

Portrait Software : much in demand

Takeover activity is also more than a remote possibility for Portrait Software, the developer of Customer Interaction Optimisation software. This week Azini Capital increased its stake in the company to 13.3% by acquiring Advent International's (ie Venture Capitalist) 9% holding.

This is an interesting development since Azini is an active investor who aims to acquire technology companies. Assuming Portrait delivers on its potential - then again I would not be too surprised see the company bought out at a large premium to current levels.

Full year results for the year ending March 2008 are due out in June 2008.

Portrait Software : New insurance product

Wed, Portrait Software said it had launched a new application to help insurance underwriters shorten the time it takes to issue a policy and also reduce their risk exposure. The software, Portrait New Business, uses rules-based underwriting, backed up by case and workflow management, to enable policies to be issued in hours rather than days or weeks

According to Nick Randall, Portrait Software's CEO, "Improving the customer and IFA experience and increasing completion rates depend on what organisations do about automating the new business process. Taking advantage of new technologies and processes to facilitate customer management, customer insight and channel management will be key to future success."

This new product looks a sensible extension to Portrait's already first class applications. Full year results for the year ending March 2008 are due out in June.

Portrait Software: new £2.6m contract with RAC

On Tuesday Portrait Software announced that it had been selected by the RAC in Western Australia (RACWA), to offer a range of services including roadside assistance, motor and home insurance and travel services to their members. The contract, worth in excess of £2.6m (AUD6m), was won by Portrait from a shortlist of three vendors.

Paul Downes, CIO of RACWA commented that "RACWA has a large member base and diverse products and services to offer them. We needed an integrated system that enabled us to build stronger, deeper relationships with them by allowing us to treat them as individuals. Portrait became an obvious choice based on its success and experience with Nationwide Building Society and also China Automobile Association, Beijing, where membership services and customer relationships are paramount. Portrait will enable us to more effectively achieve our corporate vision of putting our members first, every day".

The project is currently being implemented with 'go-live' scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2008. Preliminary results are scheduled for 10th June 2008.

Depends if they can provide
1. some more &
2. faster
improvements in their figs.,
esp. new products to get T/O up strongly.

Both these aspects needed in this mkt IMHO.

Very underwhelming figures, but turning positive & progressing.

New licence sales up, &
New products have to gain traction fast
If the Y/E results are to be more exciting...

rcktmn,

It's a solid company, once the full extent of the sub prime problem is revealed. I think in about 3 months time. The share price will rise.

Looking at the 5 yr chart we are at the bottom it's trading range. considering PST is improving all the time then it can only go up ! (imho) so I'm gonna get some more this week, providing the share price stays at this level.
