12/3/2010 10:52 | I'm holding these Gargoyle2 and agree. Results in less than 2 weeks 360p just a short term target tho - much more in them I reckon. CR | cockneyrebel
10/3/2010 13:08 | Anyone following this? It has to be looking good coming up to results in a couple of weeks time, doesn't it? Very positive last trading statement, plus some recent director buying. Reckon this could make it up to 360 plus on results. | gargoyle2
16/1/2010 17:07 | Funny how some of the best shares have the quietest boards. S | smarm
15/1/2010 10:18 | Yup. Bought a bunch back in March at 109p. Done rather nicely. | wjccghcc
15/1/2010 09:21 | Morning All Not the busiest of boards this one! Anyone else here follow it? TS this morning was robust to say the least:- The Board of Portmeirion, the AIM listed manufacturer and worldwide distributor of household goods, is pleased to announce substantial revenue growth for the year ended 31 December 2009 to around GBP43 million from GBP32 million in 2008. Although the reported Group revenues are flattered by the dollar to sterling translation rates for our US sales, these revenues nevertheless represent significant volume increases in all three of our major markets: US, UK and Korea. Having previously indicated that the acquisition of Spode and Royal Worcester intellectual property and US inventory on 23 April 2009 would generate a revenue figure of GBP7 million for 2009, the Group actually achieved sales of over GBP8 million which forms part of the overall growth for the year. As a consequence of these revenue increases, profits before taxation for the year ended 31 December 2009 will be above expectations. The Group expects to announce its preliminary results for the year ended 31 December 2009 on 23 March 2010. | cwa1

20/8/2007 21:31 | Ta. Fortress have held for that long have they? I wasn't sure what Fortress actually do - just wondered if they are the sort that acquire a big stake in a small co then sell it on to a bidder. They've been patient if they have waited 8 years here - but chart certainly looks like it's on a steep up trend now compared to the lacklustre performance back in 98 - 05. CR | cockneyrebel
20/8/2007 20:36 | Can't see why or how a fund management type outfit would want to take these out particularly since they have been on/off shareholders for 7-8 years from memory. | langland
20/8/2007 12:03 | Are these in for a takeover bid? Fortress now has 26% CR | cockneyrebel
21/5/2007 12:17 | Glad to see the AGM statement says they are in-line. I think Ed Jackson has these right and they are a buy - been quietly buying recently myself CR | cockneyrebel
02/9/2005 17:36 | caught a bit of a review in IC a few weeks back. And, what they said was that closing of 2 factories was well underway, share price is uninspiring but did have 8% yield tht they seemed to maintain.... more or less what you have just said. may have turned a corner... | mikeatwork22
13/8/2005 18:11 | I looked at PMPs interim reports today and wondered whether this stock is worth buying into. The positive stuff occurs to me to be the following: 1. re organisation complete resulting in lower overheads expected to bring at least 0.5 mil savings per year 2. in profit 64,000 stg compared to 378,000 stg loss previously 3. dividend maintained resulting in high yield at current price over 7% 4. history of maintaining same divi since 1997 , through thick and thin 5. regular share buybacks by the company this year 6. some institutional support : regular acquisitions by Fortress Finance Investments who I think now have about 22% after the acquired the last tranche of 50,000 on 13th July. Dont know if there are any other positives but I would welcome views as to the negatives! Regards Dellandave | dellandave
08/7/2005 12:56 | spread went up to 20p! now 15p! | mikeatwork22
04/7/2005 12:34 | Snippet in Investors Chronicle at the week end - closing 2 of 4 UK factories - moving more production abroard - think they are over the worse - concludes that share price hasn't been going anywhere for years but the 8% ish yield looks ok... 10P spread is a bit of a killer... | mikeatwork22
28/7/2004 15:11 | First half loss just forecast - Low for year and chart suggests heading down,Where will it stop? | pugugly
26/7/2004 21:26 | Yes, I'm not sure. I wonder whether something is going on here? | simonevans
26/7/2004 08:51 | Who are Fortress Finance Inc? I can not find any information on them. | artfullfox
29/6/2004 20:02 | Well FORTRESS FINANCE INVESTMENT INC. seem to have 17%. Anyone any views...is this a predator? | simonevans
07/6/2004 15:44 | Doubt it. Has a MUCH stronger balance sheet. Hoping they will be more like Hornby! However, I do think they need to shift more production out of the UK to lower cost countries. In the long term, I do not think they can resist the trend. | long and short
07/6/2004 12:03 | will this be another royal doulton | hybrasil |
