01/10/2009 08:44 | I don't understand fully the implications of this (if any) for Portland but perhaps it points to greater competition: "More than 50 of Britain's biggest energy projects, including wind farms, power stations, gas storage sites and high-voltage transmission lines, could be fast-tracked through the planning system under powers handed to the Government today, the Times reports." | ptolemy
30/9/2009 19:05 | I've been in this for over 5 years and the share price has always done this. Wierdest share I have ever known. If I would have traded it to what I though would happen I could be a rich man. It would be in line for this to go to 150p in a day then drop back to 110p the next. Odd. | scruff1
30/9/2009 14:08 | "Potential investors are being asked to express interest by the end of September 2009 to join a Co-operation Group ("Group") which will facilitate the sharing of due-diligence activities and costs." looks like the phones been ringing? | kooba
30/9/2009 14:04 | would imagine in anticipation of the project partners update due imminently. any waivering longs might like to read poyry's project finances report on ptg's website.. | 64bit
30/9/2009 13:42 | Yes indeed - up now at 124p.I am struggling to find a reason for this. I assume there are developments on the funding front but cannot confirm it. Any information anyone ???? | mina123golf2
30/9/2009 13:23 | Nice rise today | adp
26/9/2009 09:21 | Whats the latest re funding?? Have the negotiations hit the buffers?? The share price movement would tend to support this view OR is this yet another rise followed by a fall - the only encouraging thing is the lows are higher than the previous lows. Last question - was the report in the FT pie in the sky or has it got substance - EACN do you have the answer???? | mina123golf2
23/9/2009 12:00 | Like waiting for a bus to come this but if and when it does as we hope .... a big winner this. Any views / comments / info appreciated. Have been in these since IC said SELL back in the Spring ... I bought instead! Have topped up recently though which has messed up my 'average' but the upside excites me. Cheers All ... good day. | semoy
18/9/2009 06:47 | good paper that!! | holism
18/9/2009 00:56 | EACN .... where have you picked up thsi rumour from ... cheers. Apologies EACN .... appears you picked it up from the F.T. | semoy
17/9/2009 22:54 | mina123golf2, Nothing concrete, but the rumour is that funding negotiations are making positive progress. | eacn
17/9/2009 19:04 | Excellent rise over the past few days. It appears this is related to funding or at least rumours of it. Has anyone in info on this or indeed the reason(s) for this significant rise?? | mina123golf2
16/9/2009 18:10 | cryderuk, On the light blue channel resistance is around 145p if we continue to ascend at the current rate. On the dark blue channel, which being bullish I favour, resistance is around 200p. If there is European Development Bank funding then we can expect to see 200p sooner rather than later, however, I would caution that if funding were secured there would be an RNS and there has been none to date. There are signs that gas prices are beginning to turn, as the winter season looms, which may effect sentiment. Of course the economics of PTG are not effected by short term gas prices, or indeed by gas prices before 2015, so in a rational world this should have no effect on discussions. | eacn
16/9/2009 15:37 | eacn - If it carries on like this you're going to need a new graph ! | cryderuk
16/9/2009 11:27 | looking lively today. If the funding rumour is true we should hopefully be off to the races. | mr roper
16/9/2009 10:11 | On my chart I have the light blue lines as the likley TA scenario, but nevertheless we both agree it is in a rising channel and if the FT report is correct it may well break out of the channel anyway (on the upside of course!) | saywellxxx
15/9/2009 22:38 | ft market report "Portland Gas rose 3.1 per cent to 117p amid rumours that it had secured European Union funding for a gas storage project." | kooba
12/9/2009 07:42 | i do like charts, and they are useful when nothing is happening, but watch this space when the funding details leak out.Thats of course if it happens, good timing at the moment. | holism
11/9/2009 15:37 | Support line is certainly suggestive, and gas storage is becoming more popular as an investment theme. | clearsoup
11/9/2009 14:38 | Cheers eacn - looks like I could be right then ! It's always nice when somebody produces a colourful graph to substantiate a vague apprehension | cryderuk
11/9/2009 14:21 | I know that many posters do not favour TA. I tend to use it as a tool for summarising current market sentiment, and have found it useful when timing entires and exits. The following chart is one that I have maintained since the demerger from EDR. From time to time I speculate on the future direction of the share price and mark the chart with red or magenta lines to show the general shape of my thinking. I have made three such "predictions" this years at points A, B anc C on the chart. Earlier in the year my thinking was that we were in the rising light blue channel, but I am now more bullish and favour the dark blue channel. a href='http://www.adv The support on this channel is strong (multiple retests) and the current share price performance suggests that we are heading for the resistance on this channel over the next 3 to 6 months. | eacn
11/9/2009 14:06 | Looking good - I'm expecting this to break £2 by Christmas | cryderuk
10/9/2009 20:55 | Good day here, if the seller goes at 102p then this will be testing 115p again very quickly. | matt123d
10/9/2009 09:40 | do we expect an update early oct as to level of interest in scoping group? has there been any mention of ecb being involved in a funding capacity in the past? | kooba |
