13/7/2010 17:35 | ok what was the consolidation? | themoneymonster2
13/7/2010 17:22 | Mas Didn't OCZ have a consolidation when they first started trading on the US market? | themoneymonster2
13/7/2010 17:22 | themoneymonster2 - 13 Jul'10 - 579: what about when you set up the thread for aviva and the share price was at 600p? now 356p, bet you made loads of money though even if it never went above that price again Not really sure what point you are trying to prove ! I've set up threads for around 25 companies over the past few years but invested in less than half of them. Many of them are to monitor new stocks and some (like OCZ) I invest in later on if and when I think the share price offers value. Others I never invest in at all since that point was never reached. My 5 largest stocks have threads authored by other posters. As it happens I do have shares in Aviva. I first invested in them at around £3.60 in 2002 and subsequently transferred them into my pension fund. I have added from time to time and reinvested all of the dividends. At the moment my average cost is £4.03 so at tonights closing price of £3.55 I'm around 12% down. Not bothered since they are not in my top ten investments by value and they are a long term hold for my pension fund which I'm sure will exceed my current cost price by the time I draw my pension. | masurenguy
13/7/2010 17:01 | the_doctor - 13 Jul'10 - 16:45 - 39938: I just dislike the snout in a trough culture The above reference is in relation to the BoD of Vialogy. You better checkout what levels of compensation are paid to the BoD of Plantic. Maybe you should focus your attention on a company where you hold shares which are substantially underwater instead of constantly deramping another company where you don't hold any shares at all ! Plantic half year sales revenue: $581,087 Plantic Half Year losses: $(5,334,987) Plantic directors compensation in 2009: $1,919,138 It would appear that directors compensation exceeds annual sales and accounts for 40% of annual losses ! | masurenguy
13/7/2010 16:57 | mas what about when you set up the thread for aviva and the share price was at 600p? now 356p, bet you made loads of money though even if it never went above that price again : ) | themoneymonster2
13/7/2010 16:52 | mas Do you want me to go through this link and see what threads you started and at what price they are now, that's if they are still listed lol OCZ cancelled trading in their shares at what 8.5p. You made money though well done. | themoneymonster2
13/7/2010 16:34 | themoneymonster2 - 13 Jul'10 - 575 of 576: I was just wondering, I traded them years ago. I noticed you started the thread. LOL - nice sidestep and comeback when you were really wrong footed trying to score a point against me ! I genuinely hope that you do well here ! | masurenguy
13/7/2010 16:28 | another pump n dump turned into a ltbh for you monster I see :) | gb234
13/7/2010 16:22 | I was just wondering, I traded them years ago. I noticed you started the thread. Now is a great time to buy in here as this overhang has been the reason for the fall, and now it's cleared. | themoneymonster2
13/7/2010 16:20 | themoneymonster2 - I answered your OCZ question but you haven't responded to mine ! Do you also hold these shares too - at what price did you buy in and when ? | masurenguy
13/7/2010 16:16 | There goes the overhang. Now we can move up!!! | themoneymonster2
13/7/2010 15:55 | themoneymonster2 - 13 Jul'10 - 570: Mas, do you remember starting a thread for OCZ when they were 150p odd? Of course I remember. One of my best investments over the past two years ! An 8.5 bagger so far at todays price of around $2.60/£1.70 having first bought in at 20.5p in May 2008. Do you also hold these shares too - at what price did you buy in and when ? .................... Masurenguy - 11 Feb'08 - 163 of 330: With profits of circa £800K, component prices falling and Tech shares being hammered in the US, this is still not cheap on a current year PE of more than 20 ! Masurenguy - 11 Feb'08 - 15:42 - 165 of 330: If you bought at £1.40 then you are carrying a substantial paper loss at the moment. However that has absolutely nothing to do with any kind of current valuation ! Masurenguy - 10 Mar'08 - 17:06 - 182 of 330: Just glad that it has never moved off my watchlist onto my portfolio but at this price it is begining to look a bit interesting ! Masurenguy - 13 May'08 - 15:24 - 221 of 330: After just over a year on my Watchlist I finally took a modest initial position and bought two lots today for the very first time since they came to market ! Masurenguy - 11 Jun'08 - 14:18 - 250 of 330: Yep - bought in at 20.2p on May 13th and looking to add in due course ! Masurenguy - 23 Jul'08 - 11:22 - 286 of 330: I've been in contact with the company and they have confirmed that they have no current plans to raise further funds. They also made the point that if they did have any such plans they would hardly be interested to place shares at the current price and debt would be a far more attractive option. | masurenguy
13/7/2010 15:26 | Mas, do you remember starting a thread for OCZ when they were 150p odd? | themoneymonster2
13/7/2010 15:23 | the_doctor - 13 Jul'10 - 568: I dont think you need to worry about Sid denc Oh dear - but I do ! I feel SO sorry for the_doctor and Cynical Sid whose investments here are substantially underwater. You've both been such caring and altruistic posters on other boards that you're entitled to some consideration here ! Cynical Sid - 4 Jan'10 - 96: Hi there! Don't think I'm wrong on this. I think the company is worth somewhere between 40-50p. Have now bought more than 2m shares so really hope I'm not wrong! January 4th: Share price 12p the_doctor - 8 Jan'10 - 125: Well done here Sid! Glad you pointed it out and after a bit of research, I decided it was a clear buy. The coming deals should help to lift this substantially higher. As you say, the market cap is still undemanding. January 10th: Share price 16p | masurenguy
13/7/2010 13:41 | I dont think you need to worry about Sid denc | the_doctor
13/7/2010 12:30 | yes doc - ur right - the time to bail was when the fat man recommended it - but in spite of my advising poor Sid to do so I fear he did not i wish Sid to remain solvent so he can pay my winnings to me | denc
13/7/2010 11:32 | The time to bail was earlier From now, I tend to think that newsflow will lift the share price above this level. There's a fair amount planned for the next few months. | the_doctor
13/7/2010 11:07 | oh dear - down again - time to bail methinks Sid if you haven't already done so | denc
11/7/2010 16:32 | # 562 Many thanks. | monte1
09/7/2010 16:54 | I wonder just how many threads monte follows to look for round number posts. Must be a full time job? How many threads are there on advfn? 1000? 2000? What's particularly sad/worrying/odd is that he even checks back to see if any comments have been made. 'Many thanks' strike me as words from someone that truly is thankful for the moment of attention | the_doctor
09/7/2010 13:59 | Many thanks. | monte1
09/7/2010 13:57 | arh ok well done : ) | themoneymonster2 |
