Maybe Plant Health Care will get involved in the G8's pledge of U.S. $20 billion for African agriculture. Perhaps they could go in for a bit of philanthropy. That might do them some good in the PR stakes.

I was thinking that their products would show even greater benefits in an African setting, i.e. better drought tolerance (irrigation being one aspect specifically mentioned by President Obama), better uptake of available nutrients in low fertility soils where fertilizer is less affordable and better pest resistance in an area with plenty of pests. etc. etc.

Plant Health Care plc

('Plant Health Care' or 'the Company')

EUROPEAN PATENT GRANTED FOR HARPIN
Plant Health Care (AIM: PHC.L), a leading provider of natural products to the agriculture and landscape industries, is pleased to announce that the European Patent Office has granted a further patent covering the Harpin technologies. This new patent entitled 'HR Elicitor-Induced Stress Resistance' includes claims around the abilities of Harpins to boost a plant's resistance to several environmental stresses.

The success of this filing provides further validation that Harpins are effective in eliciting effective resistance, not only to pests and diseases but also to adverse growing conditions. It therefore broadens the scope of conditions under which Harpin applications can be expected to be of benefit to farmers and growers and hence adds to the value of the technologies for our partners and our customers.

Harpins are proteins, which bind to receptors in a plant or seed, and, as a result, stimulate the growth and natural defense systems within the plant; leading ultimately to stronger and more productive plants and improved crop yields.

John Brady, chief executive of Plant Health Care said: 'The granting of this patent further reinforces the results already documented in Plant Health Care's numerous field trials that clearly demonstrate a plant's ability to mitigate stress with an application of Harpins.'

Sounds OK to me too,
I will have to look at the company. I was genralising about the industry and had no idea that a company traded under this name. Ethical and honorable corporations are hard to find. (Profitable ones at least)

What have you got against Geopharma?

Geopharma is a company engaged in the Research, Development, Manufacturing, and Marketing of branded generic pharmaceuticals, veterinary products, health products, and functional foods. Our Company has two primary goals: to provide high-quality pharmaceuticals and health related products that improve the health of our customers, and to operate as an ethical and honorable corporate citizen. We work to fulfill these goals by enhancing our existing products as well as by developing important new products to treat a wide variety of illnesses.

That sounds ok to me.

Trader ABC.

Why are PHC immoral..
I do not buy into companies that produce or sell alchol or companies that have no care for the enviroment as this kills many inocents every year. Hedge funds are out because they benifit from others losses, Banks, Geo-pharmas are all off my list.... It's hard to an investor with these guide lines and then I was feeling good about PHC these guys help feed the planet dont they?

the biggest seed producers in the world.

And one of the most immoral and evil companies in the world, yes sell, if not for ethical reasons, look at the chart, it's a dead spike and it's going back down to 150.

Thanks for the heads-up on this share. I found it mentioned on the Hallin BB, did some research and left the limit order.
If only it was this easy getting good leads all the time. With hindsight I should have been braver.
