03/6/2013 16:42 | What's happened here ? Several years of very few posts and now more posted about a tip than about the company itself ! Anyway, we're all long term investors aren't we ? So 5p on a tip matters not a hoot. If anyone thinks that the re-publication of a subscription based tip is something to make a fuss about, you haven't really absorbed what happens online daily. I've had several websites content published in its entirety on .ru and .cn websites and there's not a damn thing you can do about it. If you're going to have angst about this, then go find out what Google is saying with one voice and doing with another. Then you'll have trouble sleeping. | yump

03/6/2013 14:23 | Couldn't have said it better alter ego. All the price action from SImon's tips happens within 120 seconds, anything you do after that is just irrelevant. Just open a chart and see for yourself. (if you can actually read that is) | blondeamon
03/6/2013 14:07 | (imo the MMs put the price up in response to buys....not due to getting wind of any tip sheet coverage...there are many tips (in papers, tipsheets, internet etc) and the share price does not move at all...) Not true I'm afraid. I have a IC subscription and am well aware of the "ST effect". In fact other subscribers complain that prices have risen before they have even read his article. MM's know the demand will follow publication. They are not stupid and don't wait to see demand before jacking up the price. It's been happening on just about every stock ST has tipped and I know that because I see the tips as a subscriber. | alter ego
03/6/2013 14:02 | "blondeamon 3 Jun'13 - 12:46 - 1640 of 1645 0 0 What's your problem spbob? The price goes up from immediately to 2 minutes after the post since the market makers are watching Simon and bring prices up as soon as his article is out. I can post all I want" Blondeamon, why not post your address and car registration...... ? and then any subscribers to the "paid for tip sheet" can come round and thank you personally .....or discuss with you whether you can broadcast tips that they pay to receive, in private ! I bet you won't !. You get the point now ? (imo the MMs put the price up in response to buys....not due to getting wind of any tip sheet coverage...there are many tips (in papers, tipsheets, internet etc) and the share price does not move at all...) | smithie6
03/6/2013 13:24 | Blondeamon you can't copy and post someone else's opinion if it is paid for opinion.... especially where it is the chaps' job-income it is copyright protected... he might have used his time to do research....or paid someone to advise him...or whatever.. the conditions for paying for his tips is that you can not-republish it....you are only licensed to receive it and read it, just "you"...if anyone else wants to read it they need to subscribe, ie. pay. so you broke the law 2) if you copy and posted the info/tip in order to help try to move the price up... in order to sell you are probably also breaking a financial market regulation ----- "If you think any post on ADVFN plays any role on share prices " ....sometimes it does....not for VOD shares but yes for small caps. | smithie6
03/6/2013 13:18 | quite right. It's not that someone posted the info here that made the price rise. It rose because Simon T tipped the stock and MM's are well aware of what he says as soon as he says it. Don't shoot the messenger. | alter ego
03/6/2013 13:17 | thieving MMs imo they had a sell order to fill imo around 51p (from around midday, reported around 12.30) and made buyers pay 3.75p higher price per share in order to buy... about 7% for crossing some trades.... daylight robbery imo if there was an automated system in place....it could be done for say 1-2% for matching-balanced trades...or 0% ... | smithie6
03/6/2013 12:57 | First of all there is no rule that says I can't as I am just posting my opinion and a small passage not the article or any links, second of all IT DOESN'T MATTER. If you didn't buy within 2 minutes it's gone, get that in your head!! Don't even know why I bother with you, added you to ignore list. | blondeamon
03/6/2013 12:53 | you should not be posting paying subscribers tips on the same day they are released never mind 14 minutes later you idiot why do you do it because you damn well know you shouldn't | spob
03/6/2013 12:46 | What's your problem spbob? The price goes up from immediately to 2 minutes after the post since the market makers are watching Simon and bring prices up as soon as his article is out. I can post all I want and it won't play any role as I posted 14 minutes later and all action occured by then. If you think any post on ADVFN plays any role on share prices then you really need to cancel your accounts and play tennis. | blondeamon
03/6/2013 12:14 | Just tipped on IC by Simon, this is going to be launching off really soon! The fundamentals are really good to go with! "Importantly, the fundamental case fully supports a higher share price: Pilat is a company that is winning significant new contracts; generating bumper cash flow and has the potential to return excess cash to shareholders; and looks nailed on to increase EPS by 14 per cent this year, with a decent chance of beating analysts' estimates. From my lens, the shares are worth 72p, and possibly a lot more if Pilat continues to win new contracts. " | blondeamon
03/6/2013 12:13 | Tipped somewhere ? | spooky
30/5/2013 21:10 | Only just had a chance to read the results fully. Agree with Paul's assessment - they look good to me too. On the basis of the fact that around £19m was already in the bag at the end of last year and they have since announced another £8m'odd of revenue AND are clearly well advanced on at least 2 further deals, they should hit £25m t/o for the year. Margins are also improving so profitability should flow through as the year progresses. I too like the increase in R&D - this is a business investing for the long term - creating a dominant position in their markets. What's more at the current run rate, cash should be £15m'ish by the year end. New deal newsflow (and either cash return or acquisition) should help maintain momentum over the next few weeks/ months. 80p looks like an increasingly realistic valuation IMO. Techno | techno20
30/5/2013 17:29 | Remarkable how PGB has virtually double its share price over the last 6 months. | azalea
30/5/2013 11:38 | rmillaree, Yup thanks for pointing that out. I've replied & amended my blog article accordingly. Cheers, Paul. | paulypilot
30/5/2013 09:23 | Hello Paul I have posted on your blog - but as things stand i wouldn't ignore the amortisation totally - unless they have changed their policies they have previously capitalised large amounts of R&D spend and will likely do so again in the future - the absence of a lion in the village when you visit does not mean that the lion is no near by waiting or was not here the previous week having its feed. There also was 576k capitalised this period but i am sort of happy to ignore that as it sort of a one of cost that relates to OTT. | rmillaree
30/5/2013 09:11 | IMO - any take-over would be substantially north of 60p/share. To me this stock should trade at least on a forward 2x EV/sales multiple (assuming say 2013 revs of £25m) - which adding on the £12m cash pile - gives a fair value of almost £1/share. Hence, stock still looks very cheap. Disclosure: I am long PGB | brummy_git
30/5/2013 08:44 | Hi millaree, Good stuff, glad you're seeing it a bit more positively now! They haven't capitalised any development spend for some time now, so the amortisation charge to the P&L can be safely ignored, as it's just historic stuff. So they made £2.8m last year, and today said that profits will rise faster than revenues (up 15% in Q1), so with a strong pipeline that suggests to me we should be looking at well into the £3m+ level for profit this year. That makes these shares look fantastic value given the Enterprise Value is only about £14m. A growing, global software business should be on a pretty aggressive price multiple, so I suggest the real value could be significantly higher than the current share price. We might get about a third of our money back in a special dividend too, which would be great. Although they need to think about liquidity in the shares - it's already too tight, so a share buyback or tender offer could just make the liquidity worse. I would rather see a sustainable dividend policy implemented, of paying out say 67% of EPS as divis each year. Cheers, Paul. | paulypilot
30/5/2013 08:38 | Having gone back through figures on my desktop - they are better than i originally though as for some reason i presumed the larger R&D spend was a capitalised amount which it was not. Lets just hope they can keep the momentum growing for the rest of the year - we do need to see though that they can prove that any extra turnover falls through to retained profit for shareholders - earnings of 3p this year or so probably isn't going to see the shareprice rocket much from where we are. One of the problems with regard to cash is that they presumably need to hold a big wad on the balance sheet to convince the larger networks to sign on the dotted line - having said that as turnover and customer base increases hopefully it shouldnt be so much of an issue and one would have though £5 m or so would be sufficient. I would still be happy with 60p bid/exit price as things stand - surely this business is qrowth snapping up at that price - don't delay make your bid now before the price goes too high. | rmillaree
30/5/2013 08:30 | Agreed with PP. The fact that they're examining the cash surplus is a positive change. | wjccghcc |
