Looks like we're finally breaking out above that key 165 mark.

A little push here and we're headed nicely into the 170's at this rate.

Do it!

Would not be surprised if it is one of the tipped shares for 2017 , a pretty easy call I would say . :-)

Electoral fraud: Voters will have to show ID in pilot scheme

Voters will have to show proof of identity in a government pilot scheme aimed at reducing electoral fraud.
Some councils in England, including Birmingham and Bradford, will trial the scheme at local elections in 2018.

A full list of the participating councils has not yet been drawn up, but 18 council areas in England identified by the Electoral Commission as being most susceptible to voter fraud will be invited to take part in the pilot.
The 18 also include Luton, Slough, Woking, Coventry and Bristol.

Different local authorities will trial different types of photo ID, including driving licences, passports or utility bills to prove addresses. The creation of a new form of ID specifically for voting has been ruled out by ministers.
Northern Ireland already requires voters to show ID before casting their ballot.

£7m in context of market cap over £600m - that's not how you buy out a company. IN that context it is only £7m. Why not email him if you want to know why he bought? HE doesn't have to tell you but he is conactable.

Oregano, I would be delighted if this was taken private in the next 6 months at £2.20

this is a bit odd. Coupled with Schroders change of heart, going sell to buy. I suspect a take private is on the cards. 220p

I agree Sphere. Net worth is largely irrelevant - e.g. Phillip Green was too busy taking money out of BHS, let alone putting millions in! anyhow £7.5m is serious cash in anyone's book.

You can't say it's only £7m irrespective of wealth imo.

I've seen folk get excited over £10k buys. If he had forked out say £50-£100k, then fair enough, but £7.6m! That's very significant and sends a strong signal imo.

How often do you see director buys in the millions or even bother to align their interests with shareholders?

Serge Crasnianski might be looking to buy more too, speculation of course, but nonetheless 2017 just got a great deal more interesting for PHTM!

I don't think he would put more money into the share unless he was confident about the prospects for the company. It is unlikely to be about the dividend as he is risking capital if the shares drop. The amount he has bought is not insignificant, even if his shares are worth £100m- this does not mean that he has much liquidity elsewhere.

Its only £7m from someone who has £100s- this will be for dividend income I am sure. As we have had instis selling into any share gain this is reassuring, given his position in the company, no more than that. I hold over 30k shares so the dividend is very useful but maybe this will spark some share price momentum upwards. I' m sure if we made the FTSE 250 earlier this year the price wouldn't be where it is.

It could be as simple as re-investing his dividend. Lets face it he isn't going to earn a whole lot by leaving it on deposit and this share has a good divi return

Yes, who are the institutional fund manglers selling here?

If that isn't the strongest buy signal out there, I don't know what is. If you're a fund manager and Serge Crasnianski wants to come in and buy almost £7.6m worth of stock (and potentially more), you don't sell! You buy!

Shows you how daft the insitutional fund manglers and their rules are. Crazy behaviour.

I bought for the first time in 1998 when the late Dan David and the FD spent
a couple of million on shares.

Maybe he is just after a bit of dividend income;-)

There haven't been too many buys in recent years by the directors. Its worth noting that a non executive also holds 12% of the company.

Crumbs, well there goes my hope of adding some more lower down!.

Who is selling enabling the CEO to buy in these amounts?.

There's only a couple of obvious reasons he could be buying. Either he wants to take the company private as he doesn't think it's being fully valued as a public company. Or else he's got some spare cash and he thinks it's better invested here than anywhere else. He's proved to be pretty astute over many years so either way we're in a pretty good place.

Is Serge attempting to bid for the company and take it private? Why are no other directors buying.
