Yes,takeover, listing overseas or going private. It feels like theres only a couple of analysts left in the UK who reluctantly climb out of bed to pen a bored response to events unfolding in the stockmarket.Pathetic really.Meanwhile, these BBs reserve their enthusiasm for a handful of lossmaking junior resource AIM listed companies.Busy, noisy bulletin boards have always been a red flag of course.

Thanks for getting back As you are no doubt aware very impressed with the way MNG has managed to sustain its high level but not impressed enough to invest at these levels. As with Aviva think this is linked to the takeover chatter doing the rounds a few months ago For the moment content with my Lgen and Aviva not so much with Phnx but the anticipated dividend does provide some solace although some few months off. For now going off grid and away from financials but still extremely reticent markets Not holding anything apart from banks and the insurance long term am in and out as is my want for a 10% turn as in most cases this obviates the dividend and gives me my much desired liquidity. Will not go into detail as seems to upset a few posters here and there. For now will just go with the flow All the best

yump: I would suggest a premium of about 50%. So, if I can get a very safe return of, say, 5.2% on a bond or even in a cash ISA then I'd want 7.8% from a share. The question then becomes more a case of 'how safe' is the stock or, how risky is it. I cannot believe there's a massive risk in PHNX beyond some takeover attempt if the share price drops stupidly low. SCS was recently taken over and I understand the holders did OK out of that.
