We need some gossip here. What is going on. Surely there must be some insider who can bring us up to date?

£500 million! 3,430 homes seems a good reason. Also noted RNS that Utilico have exercised a call option over 16m convertibles. Cant work out if this is part of the convertible share's rights or a traditional CALL Option. Either way it would seem to imply the stock is in demand and that the convertible or ordinary is worth £1.57. Checking the offer document this must be £1.54 + 6 monthly interest payment of 3p and must be BBi exercising their CALL option ....RNS seem a bit misleading.

Wonder if this will attract another bidder..... Victoria Harbour Update RNS Number:8935V PD Ports PLC 19 December 2005 19 December 2005 VICTORIA HARBOUR PLANNING DECISION ANNOUNCED PD Ports plc is pleased to announce that Hartlepool Borough Council has today unanimously recommended that consent be given to the application submitted for its Victoria Harbour development. As the development is of regional significance, the application will now be referred to the Government Office for the North East for its consideration and final approval. This timing and process is in line with the Company's expectations. David Easson, group property director, today said: "we are delighted that the Council has given its unanimous recommendation to the Victoria Harbour planning application. The scheme will transform a large area of Hartlepool that has for many years been inaccessible to the public and will deliver significant regeneration benefits to the town and the North East in general. It is envisaged that the development will take between 15 and 20 years to complete." - ENDS -

Investors Chronicle advised sell South Staff's and East Surrey and the following Monday on both occasions they received takeover bids! I suspect Mr Barker its a sure sign a counter offer will be on the table at breakfast time on Monday.....lol...well I hope so anyway.

I agree if a counter bid does not appear you get your money back without dealing costs and bid offer spread....not bad realy... as for upside the BBi offer document shows that most of the "irrevocable undertakings" are contingent on not receiving another "firm intention to make an offer", stating typically between 150-165p thus implying IMHO they would accept another offer in that region. Not very up to date on these things but I have never seen that in an offer document before. The longer the wait and with the due dilligence done the path is clear for further bid should the private equity, Development and Ports businesses of the world want some more assets.

Yes sorry it is. You will have to contact the company, URL in header. I have asked before but cant remember the dates its termed an interest payment and it's made twice a year. The period end in 31st December, 2005. I have a feeling it is paid in January, 2006.

The Utilico/BBI's CALL and PUT options are confusing. I can understand why BBI would obtain CALL options but not PUT's. Guessing what they might have done is a nightmare and I surprised there arent more regulation concerning disclosure of such options.
