Hello everyone. I am interested here but after some enlightenment. I understand the size of the potential market here and the Chinese strategy for football.. I also understand the role Tianrong can play in its position as a major licensee of current sports in china and the media distribution that goes along with this... however.... I am not sure of the role PGCE will/can play in any kind of deal? Surely any Western football club has the money and influence and prestige to be able to deal directly in China?

China plans to have 50,000 football academies by 2025 as part of an ambitious blueprint to grow into a soccer superpower.

The announcement, made by China's football association Vice President Wang Dengfeng, more than doubles the earlier target of 20,000 academies by 2020.

Wang was quoted by state media on Wednesday as saying that each school would be able to train 1,000 young players on average, fulfilling the goal laid out in a plan announced last April of having 50 million competent players.

"This is a solid way to select football talent for our future reserves. Improving Chinese football is no longer just a dream," Wang was quoted as saying on the website of the ruling Communist Party mouthpiece People's Daily.

China's men have only qualified for one World Cup and President Xi Jinping has made boosting China's football fortunes a national priority. Plans call for again qualifying for the sport's marquee event, hosting it and winning the title by 2050.

PCGE only had one business, they made money from it and the Chinese people that they bought if from decided they would take it back off them for peanuts. PCGE have zero credibility in China!

An example of things to come.....LI HAOJIE SIGNED MOU IN HERE WITH ANOTHER COMPANY AND THE EVENT TOOK PLACE......the grand prix took place in April 2009.....SO LOVE IT WE HAVE AN MOU

The City of Shenzhen in Guangdong Province looks set to host the first Class 1 Grand Prix to be held in the Peoples Republic of China in March 2009.

IOTA General Secretary, Marco Sala, revealed the news following a recent fact-finding trip to China with F1 Powerboat Promoter, Nicolo di San Germano, and confirmed that he has reached an agreement with the Water Sports Event Company, the organiser of the F1 Powerboat events in China.

'I had a very positive meeting with Mr Li Haojie and have signed a memorandum of understanding with the Water Sports Event Company that lays the foundations for an agreement for a minimum of one and a maximum two Class 1 Grands Prix to be staged in China, starting from 2009 in Shenzhen.

'I also had the opportunity to meet with members of the local authorities in Shenzhen City, including the Major, Mr Xu Zongheng, who was extremely positive about hosting a Class 1 race in his City.' said Marco Sala, adding. 'As with most new venues the logistical situation can present us with some difficult challenges, but we have found a spectacular location on the Dameisha Sea – Dapeng Bay - that will be suitable for Class 1 and we will be looking to finalise all the details by 30 May to have the Chinese Grand Prix in March 2009.'

The hard facts are in BLACK AND WHITE IN the RNS... Li Haojie, chairman of the Shenzhen Tianrong Investment Group, said his company was pleased to be partnering with PCGE to create this academy.

yep yep, we've seen all that, but it's only a MoU (no more than a handshake really) to investigate it.

All the clubs that have been linked (WBA etc) have chinese ownership (billionaires) who wouldn't need Shenzen or PCGE to develop this....

So where are the hard facts on this? I want it to happen but it needs hard truths.

LOL, the Chinese won't deal with a piddly £1m capped AIM company with no other business when they come to making football deals, they'll go to the big boys who are established in this area. The state of delusion on here, carry on your unfounded Twitter Ramps, it's hilarious! :-O

This RNS is the money earner AND FURTHER UPDATE/NEWS ON THIS ....Will take us to new and record breaking highs....patience is needed as the news will come in due course!!!

PCGE and Tianrong will partner to create the new football academy in China, which is intended to involve a joint venture with a Western football club.

The company's board said the venture fits with the Chinese government's current policy on promoting sports.

In 2015, the Chinese government committed to creating a CNY 5 trillion sports industry over the next ten years, catering for what it says is a growing middle class and raising its international sporting profile.

"This partnership between PCGE and Tianrong represents another significant step in China's commitment to developing world-class players by collaborating with internationally renowned partners," said PCGE CEO Nick Bryant.

"Tianrong have a track record of investing in major sports projects and we are very excited to be working with them to develop the academy in China."

Li Haojie, chairman of the Shenzhen Tianrong Investment Group, said his company was pleased to be partnering with PCGE to create this academy.

He called it "an important part of our long-term commitment to the development of world-class sports infrastructure in China."
