12/1/2017 13:28 | Given they are the two major players in the U.K. 7th march seems deliberate to me as the same analysts would be torn in two different locations and have two different notes to write | eh9
12/1/2017 13:26 | nfs. Completely agree. Pure speculation otherwise. Great update this morning though! | rhatton
12/1/2017 13:16 | On the same date reporting, most good companies get their results out early, and most want a Monday or a Tuesday so that people are at their desks and the company can take the rest of the week to present to shareholders, to do the rounds. This means that there are probably 6 or 8 days these companies would choose, and they chose the same one. It's just a coincidence in my view | nfs
12/1/2017 13:15 | A US acquisition would be pretty expensive at the moment, UK cheap, cheaper for a US company, perhaps a strategic play to stop a US company getting Worldpay and affecting PAYS US revenue streams | smcmahon993993
12/1/2017 13:12 | Excellent. £1 billion dollars revenue. Feels like a milestone the CEO can take with him when he sells out ... Sterling weakness and bear attack makes this an absolute steal for a US predator! | zcaprd7
12/1/2017 13:04 | Seems neither company would schedule the same date unless something brewing or paysafe incompetent! Given all the money they are now paying Brunswick one would have thought they would have been acutely aware of the 7th march implications.... | eh9
12/1/2017 13:01 | We did announce the acquisition of Skrill of the same day as presenting full yr results back in March 2015 - so 7March may indeed prove a key date ..Worldpay merger would at double our size certainly tick the box on "Bold" Although I think a US merger/acqn would be more valuable to shareholders - after all the PE are much more attractive and PAYS would be hugely accretive to a US entity given the much higher PE multiples on Nasdaq. | wolfhound1
12/1/2017 12:58 | Wolfhound on the LSE bb suspects similar activity | smcmahon993993
12/1/2017 12:48 | Worldpay and paysafe both reporting on 7th march to facilitate a bid? | eh9
12/1/2017 12:39 | Think we will see a bid for pays in the near future. | ricksen
12/1/2017 12:30 | If shorters are still actively selling it makes no sense for the company to make it easy for them by buying their shorts at an increasing price. Let them keep the price depressed so the company get more bought-in stock for the outlay. This scenario boosts eps and reduces p/e at minimum cost while reducing the pool of shares from which the shorters can close. Eventually the market will fix a realistic price but institutions may take some time (for meetings etc) before purchase decisions are made. One also wonders how the shorters protect themselves from the possibility of a takeover bid for the company - unless, of course, they are being financed by the predator! | boadicea
12/1/2017 12:25 | Talk of M&A at TU@2pm will be key - that is the single most important item to a re-rating as it would dilute further the asian investor to possibly as low as an immaterial 5% - PE would then rerate from sub 10 to 15-20 in line with UK peers. Of course if we were to go to Nasdaq - then peers over there are on PE of 25-30+ FYI - last time we were below the 200p MAVG for more than a week was just prior to Skrill acqn. GLA | wolfhound1
12/1/2017 12:25 | Start ur engines.. | tsmith2
12/1/2017 11:58 | yes, why? Just let the numbers do the talking..And the numbers are impressive.Huge war chest..think afternoon will be one to watch..hopefully, management will be quizzed on short note and they just say, "disagree, judge us on what we cash flow we generate, happy with, see current forecasts etc" | tsmith2
12/1/2017 11:53 | Absolutely no need to give credibility to the anonymous dodgy dossier by a further response - the absolute denial already given is sufficient IMHO. Regards, Maddox | maddox
12/1/2017 11:46 | I think they should have taken the opportunity to put a robust defence to the recent sell side report , or maybe they could not ? | ramas
12/1/2017 11:41 | Just a little patience required - that's all............. | stuart37
12/1/2017 11:31 | Typical down day after good news. This is on a PE of 10 or so? When Mr Market doesn't see the value in a company it is time to celebrate, not get depressed. | shanksaj
12/1/2017 11:22 | A very good update nonetheless. The buybacks add 10% to EPS. The decline in the dollar adds some 15% increase in sterling equivalent profits. So some 25% rise before you even consider the business model. Cash pouring out of this company. Another major acquisition on the cards for sure. Such growth has to be reflected in the share price at some point. | kuss1
12/1/2017 11:07 | I did say yesterday that I wasn't expecting fireworks and today's TU is positive but nothing more than a reiteration of what was expected in the marketplace. Quite why people think that would demand an incr of 10% in the share price I don't know. It's a battle between the buybot and the shorter bot now until major corporate news. | steptoes yard
12/1/2017 11:00 | It doesn't make sense for a company to short PAYS on such good news. I can only put this down to short term profit taking. I have held PAYS since share price @ 90p and it is beginning to worry me that such a great company is not being snapped up at such low values. | slaccs
12/1/2017 10:58 | Watching this in recent weeks, the shorters have managed to get it to swing from high to low over a 10p range daily, but today it's 15p down, i guess the added 5p could be attributed to profit takers adding to the selling pressure, once they're out and the CC takes place, etc, i hope normal service resumes | smcmahon993993
12/1/2017 10:49 | conf. call at 2pm may be a catalyst IMO...also US opening, but hopefully PAYS firepower on the buyback will get this turning materially blue...let's see DYOR etc | qs99
12/1/2017 10:44 | It feels like the shorters have been waiting for this day and have planned for a major drive to offset growth pressure. It's quite dramatic, but they are shorters and need to buy to realise profits, they can't keep selling forever to drive down the price, and when they stop i feel there will be a springboard effect... Come on PAYS, don't rest on your laurels and let the shorters ruin your day, get buying | smcmahon993993
12/1/2017 10:41 | yes very odd. thankfully my STM and gold shares are making up the difference! | qs99 |
