DD sure, though I looked at max buy and sell quotes towards end of day and you could buy 50k but not even sell 5k, unlike earlier in the week. Seems marketmakers dont want too much on their books

Mister MD - the bid is stronger of late though - 2% of the companies equity just got dropped in market today and its down only 6%

KN old chap! I don't think you have spent ANY time focussing on the merits of PAA. If you had you wouldn't be down 90% or whetever it is :) Too much time posting rampy drivel. Just like MTV - did you get up to 10,000 rampy drivel posts before it went bust?

same old pattern here with the latest set of punters getting caught out ?

I'm sure he is not the only one with more than one ID - remember BritishB :-)

Have never understood the need to do this except perhaps to create the image that a number of posters are backing a share at the same time! There's too much focus on posters and not the merits (or otherwise) of the shares on these discussion threads (I acknowledge that we all do it sometimes)

Great price to exit if you ask me.

Look at SRT today. More "sells" than "buys" and up 69%. Just as well I was punting and not trade counting!

I see Heralds trade listed on 1st March now:
20 7.81 189880 O Y 8.0 10.0 17:22:17 189,880

I'm guessing that cost then circa £1.5m originally

Lots of small trades between penny punters and MM's can move the price and can be the determining factor in price direction (as you say MM's just want a balanced book). However if a bigger buyer/seller is in the background it's more likely that that will be the driver of price. As you'll never know what's really going on trade counting is just just a pastime for those too dim to do any proper research IMO.

Eezy - I've known a couple of MM's and they don't give a monkeys about the price direction or the company on the whole - e.g. a friend looked after 25/30 co.s for UBS/Deutsch bank when I was in Germany. You cannot consider them an active participant in the transaction - they are passive book balancing, they have to do it - as such there is only ever one 'active' buyer or seller on a transaction(making a decision based on factors the MM does not consider) and active buys and sells are important IMO.

One exception you say - there are perhaps others - is the worked sell/buy but this is on behalf of the active buyer or seller

11p is the shareholder sell to the MM while the 13p is a purchase from the MM to a client who becomes a shareholder. Perhaps trades should not be shown as blue for buys and red for sells? Since PAA only has a few daily trades its not difficult to work it out!

The are just transactions between a buyer and a seller. If you don't understand that....

Two trades. One at 11p the other at 13p. Guess which one is the buy and which one is the sell. It's fairly easy to work out the number of buys/sells on any given day here..

The key point is that we keeping having volume - more trades already today!

Eezy - Commentary on buys and sells is perfectly valid. Yes there is always a buyer and seller - the point is who is initiating the trade is important. Invariably the more sells are put to market, the lower the price will trend and vice versa - hence using trades as a price movement predictor has merit. Market makers facilitate the price setting based on volume they are prepared/obliged to hold and their average book value.

What is your point? I'm sure your trying to make one, but I don't get it.

Zak Mir suggests little, a crossing of share price of the 200 day sma may be a signal for a rise to 20p.I don't have much to comment really, it doesn't sound like he did much more than look at the charts and put his finger in the air based on a chance positive traction is gained. It did that a few months back so hardly sticking his neck out...Still, should we get something positive in the near future he may get lucky.

The question is who's the buyer?

It's always good fun to be in the company of people who, in their fantasy shares world, believe there are "buys" and "sells" as opposed to transactions comprising a buyer and a seller.

Well that was an interesting day and a complete reversal of yesterday, when we were up on net sells and today, down on net buys....go figure?....GL S
