If we have a pet velocoraptor keep the kitchen door open, they are quite territorial and protective.

Oh and wave a black mop in it's face to wind it up daily so next time it sees a black beard ......... :-).

but they won't be back: the older guy disappeared as soon as things went south (for them), and I chased the younger one down the road, ffs. he's probably washing the brown stains out of his trousers as I write...

Preception - if they come back, it will be to do violence, based on their threats of earlier. So next time I see either of them - if there is a next time - I go straight to ultraviolence...

Nowt to do with trespass the easy option is harassment act where they get warnings etc.

It was meant to be for stalking but it's used widely. The warning is to do with 2 occasions (to complete the offence) and know or ought to know.

The warning takes 'ought to know' out of the equation.

However if they said they were going to damage your garden gnome it's an offence.

Reasonable force.

A guy shot an intruder as his wife shouted the intruder had a gun (it was a torch). Result ..... no offences by the guy that shot him. Even though he hadn't see a gun it was his perception due to what his wife shouted that he had one, hence it's self defence.

It's the same reason why in that unfortunate shooting of the Brazilian guy ended with no action against the police. That was a sad case but the issue is the perception of those involved not the facts as they were.

So if you hit them with a baseball bat as you thought your gnome was at risk then you are in trouble.

Perception .... look it up in law when it comes to events like that.

rather more worrying: I'm working from home today, so I was here. if I was out or at work, would they have left a threatening message with my elder daughter? with my younger daughter, if she was here? with my wife?

actually, that would be a good line of enquiry: get a list (not sure how) of s'holders at those meetings, and see if any of their mobile phones were in my area today (only 40 or so s'holders at the meetings I gather, wouldn't be that much work). after all, if at least one of them *was* a shareholder, if he's going to travel to where I live to warn me off, he's almost certain to have gone to one or both of the meetings. if they come back again, I'll suggest to the police they follow that line of enquiry: would be a relatively easy collar for them, easily boost their arrest rate...

There are a few hard cars on these bulletin boards who might be of help - mad4it and the rabbit might be worth contacting.....

Quite worryingly I am northern, and have come down to your neck of the woods today and for the next two days! Do I need to eliminate myself from any enquiries?!

If there's no update to the PRG web site with provable news of definite funding by Friday week, that letter goes; along with another to the Mining Minister about 'PRG2'.

seems likely it was shareholder + 1 or paid goons - the younger guy didn't seem to recognise the name Manduca when I mentioned it, and at that stage the older one was disappearing down the road at a very fast walk.

I haven't felt so alive in years - nothing like an adrenaline burst! If it happens again next time there will be blood, and I'll enjoy it even more...

Maybe you could arrange a meeting with them, then not turn up like the last shareholder one?

Why "Don't make us come back"

exactly: I was right there in front of them, and offered them out right there and then, both of them. Seems they didn't fancy their chances...

It's dfficult to imagine two normlly sensible folk would collude and agree to such an act.

Far more likely to be a p'd off individual and asking for support.

Why "Don't make us come back"

Is the train fare expensive? was it raining? were they tired/hadn't had their lunch etc.

Silly aresholes, no-one should ever threaten anyone they know very little about. I wouldn't as I know in great detail how some can react and I would expect pay back if I were to randomly threaten them and rightly so imo. Hence if anyone does it to me I flip (and rightly so).

Well, I'm bald, have a beard, and I'm a tad overweight but I have not yet entered that phase of my life where I feel the need to patronise Greenwoods do a beige jacket.Plus, I'm sat here in N Wales at work.I might have lost £46k on this scam, but I'd rather write that off than spend a term inside for 'aggravated trespass', because that is the offence committed here!

I would imagine they had a car for a quick getaway: travelling to and from a 'job' by train really would be amateur; and judging by the older guy's clothes he probably couldn't afford a ticket anyway...

I checked the train platforms, but they weren't there.

"I'd out the older guy as a shareholder and the younger guy as a son, son-in-law or so on for a bit of moral support for someone out of their depth."

yeah, the older guy didn't say much beyond "Don't make us come back". The younger guy did all the talking - probably fancied himself as a hard man until he turned tail and ran...

CS

I'd out the older guy as a shareholder and the younger guy as a son, son-in-law or so on for a bit of moral support for someone out of their depth.

With a train station that close they probably arrived on that, paid for a ticket on a card and so on.

They were probably stupid enough to be carrying mobile phones too (most are).

BTW

Nothing to stop you popping along to the station or asking about CCTV wherever you may see some.

on reflection, it seems much more likely that they were actually s'holders themselves than that they had been sent by anyone. In either case, if they come back they won't both get away again: I'll effect a citizen's arrest with as much force as needed, and find out exactly who they are and, if they were sent, who sent them.

and if someone *did* send them , that person is in very deep trouble with the law: and if I ever find out who they are I'll pay *them* a visit, only there won't be so much talking...
