A couple of small positives:

1. In July PAF acquired (at Barberton) tailings containing 40,000 ounces of gold from nearby Vantage Gold, which had suffered a major underground disaster with loss of three lives. If the operation to retrieve this gold is anything like as good as the existing BTRP, it will mean more cheap gold for PAF.

2. South African export coal prices rose almost 7% in November, from US$ 83.51 /ton in October to 89.35.

Slowly but surely the movement up continues as bid went to 14.50p at one time, since yesterday despite the lower price and hardly any movement the order book has been very strong on the bid side

Every time it looks like the shares have bottomed it then reverses again, also there seems to be lots of small lot selling why ? is it just stops being hit, I doubt it. In my long experience there is always a reason not just a mis-pricing !! I am a long term shareholder here by the way.

i see paf is below the price at which i entered, if it keeps this level for a bit more i'm thinking of using my dividend for some more purchases. management is great, new project is awesome, colliery is doing well. only bad news is the lower output over the past months and the stupid mining charter in sa

In the recent RNS about Elikhulu, the company updated on production guidance for the year. They revised it downwards from about 200,000 ounces to 195,000. They said:

" Community unrest in the Barberton area and DMR safety stoppages severely affected gold production in the current reporting period."

This was in addition to the operational difficulties which they described.

What struck me was the word "severely". Is the loss of 5000 ounces so severe? So what is the explanation? I suspect....pure speculation on my part....that the interruptions caused more than 5000 ounces to be lost, but that this loss was partly made up for by greater production than forecast elsewhere in the company's operations. It will be interesting when they next report quarterly production to see if this is the case. If so, it would be quite encouraging for future production.

This has not stopped falling yet and I don't know why !! maybe a placing to fund the new mine ? what other reason could there be ?

Mister,

Agreed, share price being driven by sentiment rather than fundamentals, paf now with forecast 2017 p/e 5.4, divi 6.9%.

Looks like an opportunity to me.
