Often looked at this co. and thought it was well run but a bit pricy.Certainly feel it's come into buying range.

typical bear market reaction.

slightest whiff of anything that is not uniformly fantastic and down she goes

good/benign news is ignored and bad/mixed news is punished

look good enough results to me but lower outlook for the year on the back of good results for the punters has hit the share price short term.

got very over sold when we got knocked out of European cup. perception being that with no domestic involvment there would be less betting. hardly think that it deserved the hammering it got. has provided nice top up opportunity since.

people gamble through recessions (in fact gamble more - you only have to look at some of the desperate gambling going on in small non profit making companies and the idiotic posts that accompany them on bulletin boards)

(I like also like party gaming but will not buy until fine is known)

happy to be in these despite medium term turbulence.

paddy power seems a very well run outfit

profits turnover eps dividends and CASH on balance sheet have steadily climbed since 2000


profit 2000: 10.95 2007: 75.83
eps 2000: 17.44 2007 130.09
div 2000: 3.92 2007 51.00

awesome record of growth

cannot find cash figure for 2000 but since 2003 net cash has gone from 81 million to 179 milion

Whats happened to this over the last few days ?
I cant see any reason for the falls ?

It's continuing to move in the same way that it has for the last five years or so, ie up, in recognition of eps that have risen from 30 cents in 2002 to a forecast 118 cents this year.. I'm not sure much more explanation is needed.

Just sold after 50% profit in less than 12 months - would look to come back in at lower price. Great company though just wonder where when reading latest report the business is going. Company looking to purchase shares back with spare cash - maybe a sell out at some point ?

Looks fantastic from a quick scan through the results. Haven't read it all yet though.
