24/9/2005 02:22 | Negligible activity in '32 Red' on its first day of trading (apologies to anyone offended by me mentioning 32Red here - but I know there are many who track every stock in this sector and the ongoing interplay between them) | m.t.glass
01/9/2005 11:52 | All bookies have the occasional run of race results favouring the punter - it goes with the territory. As long as the underlying business is growing (which it is) and the profit dip is entirely due to identifiable race results, it's no reason to fret. Though if the market takes fright like a skittish colt, no harm in banking gains and rebuying when dip ends. | m.t.glass

05/8/2005 15:38 | Another transaction showing as a 35,400 buy. Hmmm. Significantly larger than most trades this week. | butchmorgan
05/8/2005 14:21 | Well someone's filling their boots - two large buys of 25k and 15.5k shares @ 15.8 euros just put through at 14.03 p.m. today. I guess those two buys would add up to around £500,000. Cat, would that be Mary and Joseph by any chance do you think? | butchmorgan
01/8/2005 23:25 | M.T.G re the wretched big brother:- - Well spotted - it would be interesting to know how many bets PP have taken. My take on big brother is that it involves a lot of passive TV viewing followed by even more equally passive banal chat with your girly friends, rather than anything as active as placing a bet, but of course I may be wrong - and since I'm in my 50's, I'm certainly not well placed to pass judgements on a lot of spending behaviour. I'm extremely impressed by our company's efforts to prise money from the punters'purses - but it would be great to know how successful they are! Having said all that, this is looking like a very sound share - that chart tells me it's still going places. Wd welcome all views - this is a quiet board, given the unrelenting rise in the share price ... | siskinbird
30/7/2005 12:56 | Digital Marketing 27 July Wednesday, July 27 2005 by ElectricNews.Net Paddy Power bets on Big Brother: Paddy Power, the publicly-quoted Irish bookmaker, seems to have romped home on the favourite this week as its prominent advertising on the Big Brother website paid off. Paddy Power, which has quickly moved into the rapidly growing gambling areas of football and golf, as well as online poker, has capitalised on its position as official bookie to the popular Channel 4 reality TV show. Figures just compiled by Hitwise show that Big Brother has become the third most searched for term amongst all internet searches in the UK. As the sixth series reaches its conclusion, internet users in the UK and Ireland are seeking the latest online updates on Big Brother in ever increasing numbers. Big Brother is the third most popular term searched for online just behind 'ebay' and 'argos'. Big Brother searches exceeded those for 'easyjet' and 'amazon'. Hitwise figures for the four weeks to July 16, 2005 show Big Brother as the most popular TV website at 8.21 percent. Big Brother is claiming one in 1,000 website visits are to its website. (can't stand those so-called 'reality' shows meself, but if Paddy Power gain from being involved, that's nice) | m.t.glass
29/7/2005 17:02 | By now Paddy Power has broken upwards out of its recent consolidation pattern. The chart is pointing to a continued move in the same direction. Good profits to be had here. | billfisher98

14/7/2005 23:49 | I suppose it depends when you bought your shares - your "rut" looks like a healthy rise and consolidation to me. I can't give you the advice you seek - but there is never any harm in taking a profit, as the saying goes...... | siskinbird
06/7/2005 11:41 | This share seems to be stuck in a rut, anyone got a reason why I shouldn't sell up and move my profits elsewhere ? Thanks in advance. | midasmonkey
29/6/2005 04:03 | "In the 19 weeks to 10th May Paddy Power increased turnover by 30%, the highlight being the online division where revenues rose 67%. Strong growth in both bookmaking turnover and gaming revenues, however, have been offset by the lower gross win percentages on the bookmaking business, largely due to the high number of Irish trained horses winning in April. Gaming revenues, however, have seen continued strong growth driven by the online casino and games and the launch of poker in February. Gambling revenues help offset the fluctuations in the fortunes of the bookmaking business. Management have stated that full year earnings should be in line with expectations assuming continued turnover growth and the achievement of normal gross win percentages for the remainder of the year. The company now has 144 and 32 bookmaking outlets in Ireland and the UK respectively." | wantsabuck
