All the best things in life are free, some are even better though when done on a deserted beach in the Indian ocean, sun on your back, no work for a while, someone cooking your tea etc etc.
So I've heard at least :-(

MultiChoice Launches New ARRIS HD PVR with HEVC for Enhanced Streaming ServicesSource: PR Newswire (US)SUWANEE, Ga., Nov. 10, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- South African pay television provider MultiChoice recently launched the new DStv Explora 2 decoder from ARRIS International plc (NASDAQ: ARRS) to customers in South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa. The flagship decoder is the fourth generation of HD PVR devices that ARRIS and MultiChoice have launched together and makes it easier for customers to access MultiChoice's growing on demand services. The device features a streamlined hard drive and ships with a new remote control that features motion-sensor back-lit buttons and a dedicated ShowMax button."We invest in technology that enables us to offer our customers the leap in entertainment at the best value," said Gerdus van Eeden, Group CTO Naspers: Video Entertainment Segment. "We've collaborated with ARRIS on our HD PVR decoders for nearly a decade, and we're confident in their ability to deliver advanced technology to make tomorrow's entertainment more accessible today. The DStv Explora 2 will help us to offer our customers a wider range of entertainment which they can stream or download to watch when they are read.""ARRIS and MultiChoice have a long-term partnership, and we've built on this by designing another set-top for MultiChoice that uniquely addresses the needs of their customers," said Steve McCaffery, Managing Director of International Sales and Business Operations for ARRIS. "Fitting their new HD PVR platform with HEVC was an elegant solution for delivering their full range of HD content. In addition, our global scale development expertise coupled with our established local presence enabled us to continue manufacturing the set-tops locally in South Africa, which represents our reciprocal investment in the region."Join ARRIS at TV Connect Africa, 15-17 November in Hall 4, stand TV19. ARRIS will be showcasing the future of broadband and video for the African market, including: Wi-Fi for inside and outside the home; HEVC encoding; IP video delivery and ARRIS's broad range of set-tops and gateways.

I felt the same, I'd been thinking of taking some profit from Easyjet and Galliford Try a few days ago but then talked myself out of it, being 'certain' that Mrs Clinton would get in.
I laid there at 3.00am this morning thinking I'd really dropped one. I was expecting a drop of anything from 5 to 10% today so the extra 2% or so today was like a 2nd chance and I leapt at it.
Plus by the looks of it my ski holiday will be getting paid for very shortly.
Hope everyone else had a good day.
By the way I know one of Mr Trumps selling points was 'What have you got to lose' well I'm learning to sail just in case it doesn't go that well and I feel I'd rather take my chances on the seven seas.

Well well well. Got out from under the duvet to take a few profits, not with arris yet but uk seems to be happy enough. As far as I'm concerned today Mr Trump has paid for 2 weeks sailing and diving in Kenya followed by a weeks sailing course in Gran Canaria. I've a weeks skiing in Feb to pay for soon so keep it up Mr Trump.

Share repurchases. Just following up post 50270.

The 10-Q just published gives details (on page 28) of 3Q share purchases under the "public" buyback plan:

Jul Nil
Aug 338k at $27.90/share average
Sep 663k at $28.10/share average

It also confirms that they have existing authority to purchase a further $122m worth of shares, which would be about 4.5m shares at $27/share. For reference they bought 6.4m shares for $150m in 1Q.

there are about thirty three thousand urban foxes in bristol. though the population remains stable, some argue for a cull, viewing them as dangerous. ecologists, however, counter that killing the foxes would be pointless as they are territorial (with a territory of about thirty hectares on average), and when you kill one another simply claims the territory.

notes photogrpaher sam hobson, “using a flash with nocturnal wildlife is a contentious issue, especially out in the wild …where many animals are not used to artificial light and a flash can cause temporary blindness. but urban foxes …are used to artificial light, so a low powered, indirect camera flash is no different to the sudden reflection of a car headlight. i introduced it very slowly, observing their reactions at every step.”

I started my transfer on the 9th September.

All the UK stocks came through a while back however today I received the following after asking about the delay regarding my Arris transfer

I can advise that today we agreed dates to get Arris Int in and this should settle on your account on the 10 November 2016. I looked into why this has taken so long and it looks like there was some issues getting the valuation from Selftrade also they had not received your instructions so we had to resend these. I do know that Selftrade had a few backlogs on their end due to the company going through some redundancy in the back end of September. I apologies that this took longer than normal however we have now agreed dates and we should be complete with your transfer soon.

I think it's simply a case of, it is what it is.

STT - just bad communication and processes I think for the II to Barclays transfer. First II's reply to Barclays initial request seems to have gone astray, then Barclays seemed to sit on their hands, then II were still using an old SEDOL code (BLNX instead of RTHM) for one of the holdings which caused a problem, then II wanted a formal communication from me specifying how the exit costs were to be paid...

For the Selftrade to TD transfer, which was just Arris shares, there was a bit of a delay I think because TD Direct requested Selftrade to supply the US line of stock (whereas they were holding the Crest depositary interest form as far as I can tell) but that only seems to have accounted for about 2 weeks of the process.

I seem to remember my tfr from Barclays to HL took a couple of weeks.. but it was pre-Arris...I wonder if the additional time to tfr is because of Arris being US listed and therefore needing additional checks, eg Medallion Stamp??? Remember how long some brokers took because of it...
