28/7/2016 15:07 | Terminated - I tried "market price" with TD Direct and there must have been a lag, because it was giving me an indicative price of $24.xx when the live price was $28 or so (but moving around all over the shop). So I abandoned the "market price" option and put in a limit order with a $27.50 limit and it went through pretty much immediately at $27.70. The nice thing is you specify the limit in $ so you don't need to worry about calculating the forex markup or any other costs in setting the limit. So the TD Direct system seems to work reasonably well. Edit: I have no reason to think I wouldn't have got the true "market price" with the TD Direct system, but I didn't feel like chancing it given the big discrepancy between "indicative" and actual market price at the time. | 1gw
28/7/2016 15:03 | and therein lies the advantage of using spreadex/IG, the returns are tax free and the dealing is instantaneous. | waggle
28/7/2016 15:01 | Managed to sell a fair few at $27.70 or £20.73 after forex conversion and dealing costs, through TD Direct (ISA). The equivalent of nearly 440p for Pace shares I think. Very happy with that. Reduces Arris to a saner proportion (c. 15%) of my non-SIPP portfolio and under 20% of the overall portfolio. That still leaves me with net quite a few more Arris shares than I had from the Pace entitlement and still hoping to get a Christmas price for most of the ex-Pace shares. | 1gw
28/7/2016 15:00 | OMFG on phone to Selftrade staff trying to sell some shares because their system doesn't deal in real time, in that 15 mins the initial quote of £20.85 dived to £20.20. They don't have a effing clue. tin pot outfit. | terminated
28/7/2016 14:36 | No, but I hold Arris within an ISA. No regular charge as long as I keep a fairly minimal portfolio value (£5100 by the look of it). I have a trading account linked to this (at no extra cost) but haven't used it for a long time. | 1gw
28/7/2016 14:35 | Only today. ;-) | sikhthetech
28/7/2016 14:34 | Please hold onto a good gain today | bashor
28/7/2016 14:20 | 1gw, just experimenting with trade options on TD Waterhouse and it says I need to upgrade to an international trading account with a quarterly levvy. Did you have to do that? | terminated
28/7/2016 14:05 | Looking like a nice up start... | sikhthetech
28/7/2016 13:58 | Looks more like its going to open up 8.8% | beaubleep
28/7/2016 13:25 | I'm hoping last night's $26+ (on more volume) is a better indication of where we might settle after the first hour or so. I also wonder how many of the holders of that 7m share mid-June short interest might be feeling like reducing their positions after last night's results. A couple of brokers have added $2 to their target price this morning according to Marketbeat: $33 (from $31) RBC $32 (from $30) Needham & Co | 1gw
28/7/2016 13:07 | Currently going to open up 4.36% so I may be tempted to sell the ones bought in January | beaubleep
28/7/2016 11:14 | It will be interesting to see how this opens today, how many brits will want to cash in a few now the shares are close to offer price when exchange rate is factored in. | terminated
28/7/2016 09:37 | I know he was but he is not in the job today. Perhaps he could succeed Bob when he retires? | alexmcdonald
28/7/2016 04:58 | MP was pretty successful as well | jzingales
27/7/2016 23:56 | Dull but successful!! | alexmcdonald
27/7/2016 23:11 | I just wish it was Mike Pulli running the show, Bob is sooooo dull | bashor
27/7/2016 23:03 | Pretty good webcast. Look forward to tomorrow's open and some analyst revisions now. | 1gw
27/7/2016 22:58 | I've never heard so many Acronyms, to be a tech stock analyst you really need to be a geek. | terminated
27/7/2016 22:42 | Brazil doing really terrible. That echoes a comment on the Technicolor webcast where they talked about multiple quarters to return to growth. Sounds like other international is doing pretty well though. | 1gw
27/7/2016 22:12 | Interesting - couldn't buy back shares in 2Q because they were negotiating the Comcast Warrant deal. | 1gw
27/7/2016 22:02 | Anyone else lost the webcast feed? Edit: Got it back by switching to Chrome. | 1gw
27/7/2016 22:01 | Cheers, I can't fault TD Waterhouse I might move everything there. To wait or to cash a few in, it is still on the up. Surely $28 is fair value. | terminated
27/7/2016 21:57 | Terminated - yes. My sale through TD Direct on 8th July is stamped 15:43, but since I posted it here at 20:52 (and hadn't sold when I posted at 19:53) I think the 15:43 must have been local (NY) time. There was no stamp duty charged on the sale but there was a 1.5% forex charge. If you trade £25k's worth the forex charge reduces to 1.25% and there are further reductions with size of trade. | 1gw
27/7/2016 21:42 | With a following wind and a cut in UK interest rates I can now see £5 by xmas | bashor |
