19/2/2008 20:48 | ta for URA shout, will keep an eye on any movements... | qs9
19/2/2008 19:52 | Figures speak for themselves. We have not had any regarding recent newss so results will be interesting. Interesting share. Well worth watchin. | jimmycarter
19/2/2008 15:37 | same here chesty - i said yesterday that i thought this would go down, especially after an impressive 100%+ rise in 1 day, however i felt there would be continued buying to support the recent increase since for me the rns yesterday now puts the co on a different footing. The Professor has called this correctly and could well be right with the view that it returns to 30p - but for my money it has now become a different prospect. A positive trading statement even though the Turkish business has gone could well give this another boost and i feel if sentiment changes we could see a considerable re-rating. Finals are also due about mid march - at that time we should hopefully get further upbeat trading news and positive updates on the various divisions. The only cloud on the horizon in my view is the economy in general and the likely market volatility. all imo etc | escondido
19/2/2008 14:33 | This is dropping back on low volume, had it have been big sells then yes I would have been concerned... I will be topping up here before the weeks out. Be lucky to all & some more news will help this one out fly some more. | chesty1
19/2/2008 11:18 | Hi RL (Lord Santafe) hope you get some money to invest soon. I agree, a great pity that D6 and Logica2me didn't invest in this. By the way I predict that URA will lift off again soon - keep it on your monitor!! | the_professor
19/2/2008 11:15 | did warn you guys yesterday that the share price would not go past 50p, I do hope that you sold out before the inevitable drop - I see this returning to around 30p but will do the same thing as yesterday when further news is anounced | the_professor
19/2/2008 09:37 | buying has dried up - looks like re-tracing a little more | jrjr99
19/2/2008 08:37 | Morning all Looking set to turn blue even after yesterdays big rise. Be lucky to all & happy to hold this one longer term. (is that a shake, DO I top up now or wait for lower. hhhhhmm) | chesty1
19/2/2008 08:34 | looks like some buyers have returned.... | qs9
19/2/2008 07:27 | I still agree with you, though 2 very good pieces of news, from holdings of 12.54% (OXN) & 16.63% (SLG) respectively, should do the Foresight NAV no harm at all. | damanko
19/2/2008 07:23 | will take a look at FTV, but still think OXN offers better upside for next few days (he says hopefully!)>.... | qs9
19/2/2008 07:22 | Could be some fun with Foresight VCT one way or another, see also the Sarantel thread (SLG), RNS this morning......in which FTV has 16.63%. | damanko
18/2/2008 22:07 | Hi Damanko I have edited my last post to provide a bit more detail, I'm very aware of the forthcoming 5p (TAX FREE !) divi for FTV, the ex divi date is feb 29th I think. I reckon todays news on OXN could be described as company transforming, just think, a fuel additive which can improve fuel consumption by up to 5%, the mind boggles! I will buy more foresight tomorrow if the MMs are still asleep. | timbo003
18/2/2008 22:05 | QS9, I make it a 4p uplift in NAV at Foresight (FTV). I am working from figures given to me by the Foresight management. See what you mean though, OXN represents the main way in. Though possibly 24 hours too late. As Tim mentions, the FTV share price hasn't yet reflected any rise at all. NAV is one thing, the share price something different altogether. | damanko
18/2/2008 21:54 | Wotcha Tim, Having held Foresight for many years, I'm due some good news. They are paying a 5p dividend next month, you may have missed that. Whatever, Oxonica was a star for a while, then faded pretty quickly, after the Turkish Undelight. Happen it is getting back on track. | damanko
18/2/2008 21:54 | Not sure a 3p increase in its NAV for a doubling in share price is the best way into OXN soaring? Surely buying OXN is a better return? Looking forward to press tomorrow, market obviously loved the news so who knows where this is heading.... | qs9
18/2/2008 21:22 | Well, interesting day, but with Oxonica you get used to that. I read the RNS just after 7 am this morning, then went to work. Thought both the price and the thread would see some activity during the day. As a shareholder in Foresight VCT (FTV), I expect to see an uplift in its share price, though only if no bad/indifferent news follows. Foresight has 7,734,360 shares in Oxonica, ie a holding of 12.54%. As far as I can see, there was no volume in FTV today, which is a tad puzzling. Today's rise in OXN represents an uplift of a little over 2 million pounds (to Foresight). Yesterday FTV's quoted portfolio was worth seven and a half million pounds, right now it is worth nine and a half million. Should be interesting to see what volume of shares in FTV (and, of course - OXN) are traded in the next few days. Long suffering holders of Oxonica though will be forgiven if they are a little sceptical. Time, as always - will tell............ | damanko
18/2/2008 16:53 | last post today - Item from Proactive Investor - sorry if posted already - 'Oxonica soars on commercial validation of Envirox Monday, February 18, 2008, 12:22 PM Shares in Oxonica ( AIM: OXN ), the nanomaterials group, more than doubled after the company said it received "further validation of its Envirox fuel borne catalyst". The catalyst is used by Stagecoach Group plc, which confirmed that it had delivered fuel savings of more than 5% across the Company's 7000 strong UK bus fleet. Adrian Havlin, Stagecoach Group Technical Engineer said: "Our vehicles have driven more than 700 million miles on Envirox, and to achieve a consistent result across a diverse fleet over 3 years testifies to the robustness of the technology. We are particularly pleased with the performance of the product both in ultra low sulphur diesel and in blends containing biodiesel, which are now in widespread use across our fleet." Oxonica added that it had also recently completed trials in Italy and Germany which also returned positive results, and it had entered into distribution deals for Envirox in Germany and Russia that were already generates sales. Kevin Matthews, CEO, said: "The evidence for the performance of Envirox is becoming increasingly compelling at a time when the issues of climate change and high fuel costs are becoming acute. This proven technology offers the potential to make a real difference to carbon dioxide emissions today. In the UK, reducing diesel fuel use by 5% will save 3 million tonnes of carbon dioxide per year, and Envirox can achieve this while, at the same time, reducing the burden of high fuel costs on the transport sector." Hopefully get a mention in the press tomorrow good luck all holders esc | escondido
18/2/2008 16:46 | I was fully expecting a dip near close & was ready to top up.... Not about to do so tomorrow so will just have to hold. Be lucky to all & lets hope they play there games tomorrow by moving it up, what a rise for you early birds. | chesty1
18/2/2008 16:35 | well price held up well. Should expect fun and games tomorrow morning with mm's looking to pick-up some stock from weak holders, although could quite understand anyone selling or top slicing after today's rise. If the price opens lower it will be interesting to see online limits. esc | escondido
18/2/2008 16:15 | After a rise like this you would have thought they would love some buyers at the mo but the complete opposite. | chesty1
18/2/2008 16:13 | I was just about to type that escondido.... | chesty1
18/2/2008 16:12 | can buy 150 sell 10k on selftrade. Free-float must be pretty tight. | escondido
18/2/2008 16:00 | If this holds it'll bode very well for more gains tomorrow as I would have thouhgt day traders would be bailing out but then they have probably been in & already out... Bigger trades holding this up nicely at the mo I just wish I had been in before today. | chesty1 |
