- surely a matter of price? Must have finished due diligence ages ago. Interested party/parties must still be interested or would have walked away by now. Do you think it is taking so long coz Orca is playing one off against the other? When talks drag on for so long it is always unnerving.

eric

Can you ask about the momentum of sales/management's optimism/US sales.Cheers.

More detail on the UNE EPM Telecommunications IPTV Service Rollout in Colombia.

End-to-End IPTV Solution in Colombia a Joint Effort.

Sagem Communications, Orca Interactive and BitBand have been selected by UNE-EPM Telecomunicaciones in Colombia to jointly offer a powerful End-to-End IPTV solution, focused on an enhanced quality of experience for users. Following the successful joint IPTV deployments of Darty in France and On Telecoms in Greece, Sagem Communications, Orca Interactive and BitBand realized that service providers need a reliable and service-enabling solution with the unique advantages offered by their combined solution. The current deployment with UNE-EPM demonstrates the continuing demand for the tailored IPTV solution provided by this truly global and proven alliance.

The readily-available solution offered by the three companies and implemented, in this case, by Union Electrica S.A., enables the delivery of a full spectrum of dynamic TV services, ranging from Enhanced broadcast TV to On-Demand content. Utilizing the companies' joint solution guarantees the utmost Quality of Experience to IPTV subscribers, including fast channel zapping, top quality TV even over low quality access lines, the ability to pause and rewind live TV, and more.

"The IPTV market is a ripe market which is ready for the introduction of innovative entertainment services, or expansion of existing offerings", said Ervin Leibovici, CEO, BitBand. "We highly value our collaboration with Sagem Communications, a leading player in this market, and Orca Interactive, an innovation leader in the IPTV middleware market, and look forward to expanding our cooperation throughout Europe and beyond".

Orca Interactive will demonstrate IPTV innovation at TelcoTV in Atlanta, Georgia.
23 October - 25 October 2007.

Orca Interactive Ltd, a market pioneer in providing IPTV middleware and applications, will showcase its array of cutting edge technologies to power next-generation IPTV services.

Orca's Chief Technology Officer, Dr Ofer Weintraub, will speak about the challenges and benefits of incorporating User Generated Content (UGC) into IPTV offerings. Dr Weintraub will also discuss how combining UGC with IPTV services can help operators enhance their offerings.

Demonstrations will include Orca's advanced RiGHTv IPTV middleware platform with UGC solutions for IPTV, enabling subscribers to view personal images stored on the Web on their TV and create personal video clips, while also providing operators with the tools to bring Web-originated UGC content to video-on-demand offerings.

With over two million video views in only one week, the popularity of User Generated Content continues to grow – attracting IPTV viewers as well. Today, a myriad of technologies are available for accommodating UGC services. At the same time, IPTV operators are faced with numerous challenges, such as quality constraints and regulatory issues, delaying the introduction of new revenue-generating services.

TelcoTV 2007 will also mark the official launch of Orca's groundbreaking solution for Content Discovery, COMPASS.

Orca's wide-ranging experience in deploying IPTV globally has led the company to the realisation that the benefits of integrating UGC with IPTV outweigh the difficulties. It has encouraged the company to develop the tools that enable its customers to successfully do so.

Col - good find

One of the bidders ,if not all, have deep pockets.Presumably they believe in the technology and it's potential or else they would not be bidding. Can they afford not to own it and see one of their fierce rivals walk away with the company? As an option on the " holy grail" a bid price of 25-30p seems modest.
