19/2/2002 15:46 | looks like a move northwards after hitting 400p, do u think it will last? | m.a.d
19/2/2002 15:42 | I don't know. I couldn't figure out what happened to it. And also one of the Long Orange threads. I thought it was me computer. Great! I won't chuck it out now! | johnnyamerica
19/2/2002 15:29 | Who's locked up the thread shorting Orange? Anybody know? | rorysdad
19/2/2002 15:26 | This explains the situation better than me, and the put and call options more accurately! 2002-02-19 15:21 France Telecom says Mobilcom exposure 5-6 bln eur maximum Company: FRANCE TELECOM France Telecom says Mobilcom exposure 5-6 bln eur maximum PARIS (AFX) - France Telecom said its maximum exposure to Mobilcom AG is between 5-6 bln eur if the two companies are unable to settle their dispute over the financing of Mobilcom's UMTS operations. "We are not at that stage yet however", a spokeswoman told AFX News. Mobilcom chairman Gerhard Schmid has a put option allowing him to force France Telecom, which currently has 28 pct of Mobilcom, to buy one third of his 43 pct holding in the company. France Telecom meanwhile has a call option allowing it to buy a majority shareholding in Mobilcom from 2003. Mobilcom yesterday said it hopes to come to a "reasonable" agreement with France Telecom over its business plan in the next few weeks. mrg/jad NNN | johnnyamerica
19/2/2002 13:22 | Now, now, now, you know that there is a lot of meat on OGE that ought not be there. 1. OGE has had its operators tell customers that they're eliminating their Orange equity points scheme in the near future. Is Orange so confidant of its current market leadership that it can eliminate this advantage? Or is there cost-cutting going on? 2. Thanks to France Telecom's parentage Orange may be forced to eat a lot of German 3G licence winner MobilCom's debt. It hinges upon whether or not FT loses a spitting match with Mobilcom's founder, which the papers suggest is spending FT's money a bit too freely. The founder is reported to have a put option which would require OGE to buy his share, about a third I believe. See today (Feb. 19) FT, Times, and WSJE. 3. An article in the Sunday Times weighed up Vodafone vs. Orange and concluded that over the long run Vodafone would win, if only for sheer size and staying power. 4. The chart says it all. It's dropped 150 points in the past few weeks. If it drops below £4 then its freefall with sucking noise. | johnnyamerica
19/2/2002 10:18 | I think the resistance level is right around where OGE is now--at 400p or so. If it breaks below it, I think it will have a long drop. | johnnyamerica
19/2/2002 09:46 | it is rite on target, wait 2 buy back in at about 3.50 :) DYOR | m.a.d
19/2/2002 08:06 | Orange is now looking like a big time short. Note the articles in the FT and Times on the possibility that Orange might be required to buy a chunk of loss-making German 3G licence winner Mobilcom. This appears to be the reason for the decline. I had been tracking them for the last 100 point fall, but couldn't figure out why the share was dropping, given that its customer base was beating Vodafone, but in retrospect it was probably insiders selling in anticipation of this, and perhaps other, nightmare scenarios. | johnnyamerica
18/2/2002 17:32 | looks knacked to me | moonblue
15/2/2002 10:05 | MirekS heading for that low £4 range very soon | mealiff
15/2/2002 09:56 | just resurfacing this ! hmmm price has almost dropped by a third in five-six weeks ! enjoy | mealiff
13/2/2002 11:36 | Agree, although don't see it dropping much below £4.50, the fact that it rose 60% in the 3 months after sep.11th shows it's strength. I do think Telco's are reaching their ceilings and should start consistent but slow recovery as 2.5G is now rolling out worldwide and 3G is testing positively in consumer market. Aim to get in £4-£4.50 i think! Latest falls are in line (but slightly exagereated) with other Telco's (VOD & OOM in particular!) IMHO & DYOR! M. | mireks
12/2/2002 15:54 | wait till about £3.50, and buy again as u will see a steady rise back 2 £5.50 - £6. this is a sound stock and u can make your money if u do it rite :-) | m.a.d
06/2/2002 10:45 | Probably the T1X or NAS influence or even just Telecomms in general! Nobody interested in Orange? £4-£7.50 range every 2 or 3 months, plenty of opportunity for profit, follows other telecomms quite closely and reacts to news predictably! | mireks
30/1/2002 15:42 | I know this is problably a naive question, but how come when buys outnumber the sells by 2 to 1 ,why does the price fall? | gubbins

25/1/2002 07:11 | Orange (OGE) was taken over by France Telecom. I tbink there will be some action coming up with OGE--I'm short on them. Keep an eye on Vodafone subscriber figures coming out today as an indicator to how healthy OGE is. They'll have a trading update within a few weeks, I believe. | johnnyamerica
25/1/2002 01:21 | can anybody tell me when did ORANGE has been takeover by somebody else? | indowoodstock
18/1/2002 14:58 | No idea, however the full year results for Orange should be out pretty soon. Considering 3rd qtr were released on the 25th of October. | geoferra
18/1/2002 14:06 | Has anybody any idea why OGE has dropped so far in the last few days? Any bad news? Ed. | edgarssoni
28/12/2001 11:59 | well done craigwaites...looks like this is just floating around th 610p mark | m.a.d
15/12/2001 01:45 | Phew finally got rid! I'll buy them back when they drop again. | craigwaites
10/12/2001 16:09 | sold 2day...will wait for it 2 go back down again | m.a.d
05/12/2001 14:10 | I've been following these for a year (since flotation) and they've just got back to original price (607 just up at 630 today). Because of the mm02 float (OOM) and the 3G costs, this is going to be about the best they do for at least 3 years i think. Then they will go up as the company is very sound and respected. They have had an overall HOLD rating for a long time. | mireks |
