24/2/2017 17:23 | Finncap are awful and I hope they either improve or get dropped.Share price performance over the past 18months though not exciting has been pretty normal for a company grown so quickly in such a short period of time. Completely understand disappointment from those who followed the momentum expecting a quick gain in the 75-80p region. Tom winnifreth has not helped at all. If you think from sohs point of view he's grown a company from 8p up to 1£ currently consolidating between 60 & 80p 30 months in. Highly doubt he'll see share price as much of an issue. Many companies don't deliver a 50% share price rise in their lifetimes let alone 1200% peak within the first few years of listing. Primed for a while now for the next leg and will be down to commercial traction which should push us firmly past 1£. This doesn't happen overnight but have no doubt in the short term this is still a multibag opportunity. Long term, if the microbiome turns out to be the revolution in healthcare experts predict then opti will be massive. The early land grab will pay huge dividends. Even If opti were to be listed on Nasdaq today without skin your looking at minimum double the current valuation. Huge growing excitement around this area in the states. This must be in soh and the boards minds for the future | riskybusiness1
24/2/2017 16:18 | LOL Parob - That and Thursdays has been part of the problem, traders have been using them swing trade. As for Skin Therapeutic IPO, I would very surprised if we got anything substantial BEFORE Vitafoods gig. I just think OPTI will have their schedules full. Hope I'm wrong. | elrico
24/2/2017 16:17 | Parob, I like your OPTImism! | rafboy
24/2/2017 16:11 | There is still one Tuesday left in Feb. You never know! | parob
24/2/2017 16:09 | yes raftboy, still 4 weeks to the show, surely soh must have something up his sleeve before then, February has been the worst month for release of news, just a nothing on the warrants and these are meant to be exciting times. (soh words), i know you are a busy man soh, but i hope you are having a gander here and taking note. | neftanikoff
24/2/2017 16:06 | Again I agree that there should be a buy recommendation and a price target, that is the norm. Unless of course something is about to happen that will change things but then why issue said report now! | rafboy
24/2/2017 16:03 | I also am surprised that the house broker deems it fit not to put a a target price for opti shares. I have not seen the note, but surely the writer must come to a BUY conclusion. Surely this broker note is not secret, it is in their interest to peddle it to as many people as they can, so long as it portrays opti in a favourable light and if they are the h/b, then it will. It must eventually appear on the opti website, in the meanwhile perhaps someone can put it in the header (maybe a fincap client) | neftanikoff
24/2/2017 15:59 | Neft, agree on the questions front but I hope things will kick off before then. The demerger of skinbiotix could come sometime soon and we know that we launch our cholesterol products in the spring. | rafboy
24/2/2017 15:45 | i see that raft boy, looks like someone got 10,000 for 67.75 as actual sells are going for 67.02. i got my ticket for the TW investor show this week. But i am not sure that i will be attending. No doubt soh will be talking about opti, details i think next week. He can talk as much as he likes and he most certainly will on the merits of holding opti shares and what exciting times lie ahead but i hope he will be asked at the end of his presentation (if he does one) some pertinent questions about the share price performance for the last 18 months. Furthermore i will hope that TW is asked about his repeated messages of "big news" coming buy at 80 or below and sell at well 100. I have no doubt if these 2 people are asked awkward questions, that they will provide good answers. soh will most likely shrug his shoulders and intimate that the market has got it wrong and opti should be valid at something like £200m comparing it to its peers and the huge potential that is there . PS, of course, there is still a month to go before the show and there is the possibility of news before then that will be good fr the share price and so make it an easier ride for the 2 aforementioned fellows. | neftanikoff
24/2/2017 14:05 | Topped up 3656 shares at 68.21p just now. Went through on ISDX. | rafboy
24/2/2017 07:27 | House broker finnCap have put out a note on OPTI today with a 'Corporate' rating. Still no price target given. (They've also given eleven other companies 'Corporate' ratings today, all WITH price targets given.) 1. What's the point of a 'Corporate' rating? 2. They're supposed to be analysts, why not analyse and come up with a price taget - it can't be that hard, peeps do it on this board every day! | someuwin
24/2/2017 07:19 | So Optibiotix are exhibiting at Vitafoods in May - search Optibiotix at this link: They're on stand H64 which is a pretty central location at the event: Listed as: - Ingredients & Raw Materials - Branded Finished Products - Looking For Distributors If we're 'on track' for the launch of the LP-LDL® product at this expo on the 9th May, I would expect partnerships (for 'Branded Finished Products') to be announced in April at the very latest. Bearing in mind we're into March next week we shouldn't have to wait too long for news on that front. And that's just our cardiovascular product. The stock is oversold and IMO the price has dropped way too much considering where we are in the journey. I agree with Scotty and think we'll start to climb back out of this dip very soon, possibly as early as today. I'm in for a few more anyway. | parob
23/2/2017 22:43 | kipper1960 23 Feb '17 whl - looks like you were spot on - I stand corrected. And thanks Primal for the explanation from Anna No problem kipper, hopefully we will get some ground breaking deals soon all the best | whl2
23/2/2017 21:54 | IMHO I think the FCA should impose a min period of demo account trade accounts for new retail clients for CFD-SB to demonstrate risk management to protect people. | elrico
23/2/2017 21:51 | Colin - my aim is to close the SB above 90p then add to my OPTI ISA for 2017 with the hope I'm covered for the skinbiotixthereputic | elrico
23/2/2017 21:46 | What's your take profit target Elrico? | colinzeal
23/2/2017 21:43 | good risk management is the key. i first started using SB about 25 years, when i look back and realised some of the crazy positions i held, probably a little like newbies now. At one point i had 4 Million pounds at risk. In one day i lost 80k. Lesson learnt.i run very strict RM. My Opti SB are covered to 15p. Stocks like Opti i am more concerned about the tax element rather than the Margins required. Unfortunately these days, the CFD companies have removed the availability of the Guaranteed Stop loss on many instruments. | john henry
23/2/2017 21:29 | JH - my exposure via SB is £17k by way of £200pp. My margin is covered to a low of 50p. I make sure I am not stopped out by traders. | elrico
23/2/2017 21:15 | wow core spreads have allowed a large position at 25% margin. 17k x4 divided by price. 68k divided by ??p im guessing around 2000 p/p Thats quite a risk, unless youve got it well covered. | john henry
23/2/2017 21:06 | As far as i am aware Elrico, there are only a limited number of stocks where you can get 50:1 ( 2% )margin. Apple Google etc To be honest, the new restriction want make a great deal of difference to small (over 25M mkt cap, med cap companies. CFD SB companies have raised their margins requirements quite substantially over the past 12 months. well at least your 20 p/p will be tax free when you sell it Elrico, one advantage you get from holding via a SB. | john henry
23/2/2017 20:38 | JH - aside from core isa holdings, I took out a £17k SB @ 25% margin with Core spreads. I expected ETX to be 75% margin on OPTI for a mere £1333, NOT @ 100%. I did click on the info option, but it appears I clicked on another stock in my watchlist above OPTI, that was 75%. I use ETX sparingly because they have a higher margin requirement that Core for the same stocks. You would think after 33 years I would have got all the schoolboy error's out of my system by now ;-) | elrico
23/2/2017 20:13 | Elrico if you look at the margin requirements on SB and CFD positions amongst smaller companies they are already high. Take Opti, from memory first 12k is 25% 4:1 staggered up to 38k at 75% margin. Forex market is where the margins will most affected. | john henry
23/2/2017 19:51 | whl - looks like you were spot on - I stand corrected. And thanks Primal for the explanation from Anna. | kipper1960
23/2/2017 19:37 | schoolboy error!! Guess who neglected to check the margin requirement for his SB trade on OPTI today!! Yup. I made a stupid assumption it was 75% as per 4 other open small cap, tightly held stocks. ETX stiffed me on a 100% (£1333)! As stupid as I am I am stiff shocked as it the trade makes no sense over buying physical stock. Corespreads is £255 for the same trade....if you can get it. I'm confident I am the minority here, but I hold myself up for ridicule in the hope nobody makes the same schoolboy error :-) | elrico
